How did he miss the wide open receiver? Didn't even see him. Russ is better as a running QB.

Imagine that 1-2 incompletions on third down in FG range and Denver WINS the game in regular time.

It looks like the picture of the last few seasons is starting to clear up.

Sometime around the SB win, PC said something about building a team without expensive players. A well rounded team with younger talent that many other teams had overlooked. He proved it many times with Sherman, Wagner, and even Wilson in the early years....and now, possibly Geno. PC seemed to be against eating up cap space on just a hand full of players.

The wheels seemed to start to come off right after Wilsons first extension (though the SB loss didn't help). PC also recently made the comment "he does what you tell him" when talking about Geno. I'm starting to think the wheels became too lose from Wilson's "free lance" QBing....completely messing up the offensive play. Denver sure does look like the offense we have witnessed here in Seattle for the last 2-3 seasons. Able to move the ball, but unable to put up the points.
Pete Carroll defended his quarterback like hell, and all he got was bullshit reputational smears from the diva who he shielded from EVERYTHING. He's a goddamn saint and, obviously, more of a quarterback maximizer than people wanted to see.

Wilson is VERY thin skinned, he could be done at this point, his confidence went down the toilet. A QB with no confidence and no support from his teammate is in a bad situation. Russ may not rebound.

You know what? Broncos doesn't even have a decent backup QB.

It's also not like he had to get rid of the ball quickly either. He had all day back there to go through every read and still couldn't find an open receiver on that play...

Broncos saw pre snap that the Colts were lining up to play zone too if I remember correctly. Then the Broncos called a time out.
