I full well expect the M's and Rangers to go back & forth holding a slim lead over the division all summer.

Getting swept by Minny at home was "so Mariners" ... as was the sweep of the Orioles in Baltimore. We swept the best, on the road, and got swept by the worst at home. Such a Mariner thing to do.

That was our first bad 3 game series in over a month. I'm not worried. Just keep a nice 6 game cushion over the pesky Astros (who are playing well now), and keep pace with Texas.

...and a very nice win today. This team bounces back. Last year, we would have been on a 6+ game losing streak after getting demoralized by the Twins.

Back on April 1st, had someone told me Karns would be the best of our starting rotation I would have laughed. Really like what he is doing on the mound thus far.

Well, it was May 4 rather than April 1, but at the time I listed off five things I was really liking so far this season, Karns being item number 1.

Oh no, that's OK, I'll Aoki myself back to the dugout, post-HR, bereft of celebratory recognition.

We've got 2 at home against the Padres, then 2 at the Padres. If we get what is essentially a 4 game sweep that'd be great. Big series against Texas (in Texas) this weekend. Momentum would be huge.

Bats are on fire today. 7-0 bottom of the 2nd. I think we take all 4 games from the Padres unless we don't play as well in San Diego.

Hung a 10 spot on James Shields in 2 2/3 innings and all with 2 out. Ball carrying well in the warm weather today.

Take at least 1 of 2 in San Diego and 2 of 3 in Arlington please guys.

One thing I like is that unlike last year, hitting is contagious, like it normally is on most clubs. It seems like last year they were taking turns. One guy would get hot and the others were all kind of sitting and watching. Really nice to see more than one or two guys on a tear several times so far this year.

Hope they can continue. :th2thumbs:

16-0 bottom of the 5th, inning isn't over yet. Padres are like lambs to the slaughter.

I'll be disappointed if we don't get 20. It doesn't happen often.

My guess is traded. Hopefully not for peanuts. If he were getting a call up, they probably would have just said so.

The Mariners do need rotation help, but Paxton isn't that guy with his 2 pitch repertoire. Sooner the Mariners trade for a starter the better.

Not to sound bitter but would it have killed them to get just one or two of these clutch homers vs the twins? That sweep is all the more frustration when seeing how potent their offense typically is.

Paxton not being traded per softy. Might get called up soon. Pretty weird considering that all his teammates were hugging him goodbye, not something you typically see for a Short term call up that might not even happen. Seems fishy.

I figured maybe they called him to alter the rotation and let Felix pitch against the rangers. Guess not though.
