I don’t foresee a 2nd wave of releases happening except Lockett which is a little more complicated.

This tells me that most likely extensions are being worked on for Noah Fant, Nwosu and Geno to further drop the cap hit substantially. DK is another one but I don’t see that as pressing as the other three right now. I bet DK is extended closer to the season.

Noah Fant should be cut too but I guess we would be in a tough spot if we did that. I'd be all for trading for Mayer. I'd trade Woolen for Mayer.

I'm sure they will want to give Lockett the recognition he deserves. They did this the right way. He shouldn't be cut with that list of do nothings.
I think this is true. Whether they plan to cut Tyler or not, it won't be announced in a dump with a bunch of other players.

I still think he's gone (due to the realities of WR3 contracts), but we'll see.

As for the list of cuts, no big surprises. I wouldn't have been surprised if they kept Jenkins or RRH, though, either.

I would bet RRH comes back on a much smaller deal. He had no guarantees so a cut was imminent. Now they can bring him back on their terms and they liked him.

Our TE room is a bit thin, and I hear Klint likes them. Fant is serviceable as a receiving TE, so I expect he'll be extended.

Not well versed in the cap, but I thought a Geno cut/trade would clear 30M in cap room. Conversely, a DK trade would net 11M. Maybe someone could confirm.
If we are at +33M right now, Geno/DK savings (41M) would put us at 74M cap surplus.
That would fill a lot of holes and extend most of our good young players.

Schneider visits .NET often and hears the voice here that everyone, except ole Toffee, wants to keep Lockett. But wait, why isn't Geno on the list? surely he read that too?
Schneider has his lackeys patrolling and checking the temperature and forecast of .NET and Schneider makes sure to do the opposite of what we (most here) want, just to keep us under the realization that Schneider runs the show and not .NET experts.

That’s Schneider's way of “sticking it” to .NET experts!

Well played, sir!

You're honestly not far off. John doesn't use social media but his son does and relays everything to John

This will be very basic. There's a lot more that goes into this but I'll keep it simple. We were $6 million over. These moves save $27 million so we are now about $21 million under. There's a lot more moves to make and will be made but two for sure ones are Tyler and Geno. Cutting Tyler and extending Geno saves another $40 million. That gives us $61 million while still having many more roads we can go down.
