It’s not as automatic as you think. The A’s pitcher is pretty good and we need to score some runs. Oakland is one of those teams even as bad as they are can fluke across some runs, today is a prime example.

Because it's Oakland and he's getting guys rest days against a weak opponent, maybe?

They'll be available later in the game if needed. With Castillo on the mound, we should be able to hold them to 2-3 runs.

Haggerty was scratched late today because he hurt his shoulder on a headfirst slide the other night. That’s the reason I hate headfirst slides.

As for the game our backup catcher with 2 on got to 2-0, checked swung at a pitch for a strike that almost hit his foot, swung at a pitch that was a foot outside in the dirt, then looks at a meatbal down the middle for strike 3. Haven’t hit anything hard off their starter yet.

94 mph is average. Chased a lot of crap pitches outside the zone and looked at pitches center cut. Horrible offensive approaches to AB’s the last couple of days. Falling into old bad habits again at the plate.
