That was probably our best chance to steal a game this series. Our bullpen in is meltdown mode. The lack of scoring is too heavy for them to protect.

Not to go full on Criz, but is anyone surprised they lost that game? They were up 3-0 and I expected them to lose.

I hate feeling this way, but they have NO chance of turning it around. Fork has long since been inserted.

Yeah, have to agree with the Criz, organization is too top heavy.
Does Seattle have a Cornhole team?

Fortunately, we have Hawks and Kraken soon. Two teams that make one thing their top priority: WINNING.

Imagine that.

If the Mariners end up a sub .500 team (quite possible), and finish a binoculars distance from the playoffs, you've got to think there's going to be some kind of a reckoning this off-season.

The only problem with this sh*t show of a scenario is how undeserving the ownership group is of being the initiators of such changes beneath them and apportioning the blame. I still think Dipoto has done a commendable job rebuilding our farm talent, but even with the financial constraints he was under this past off-season, he had a poor one in terms of results on the field.

Servais has to go. I don't hate on the guy, but someone would have to take the fall.

It's hard to be a Mariners fan now. They finally lure fans back in a few years ago with their success, and then just pooped out and showed no real desire to build on that success. So disappointing from a fans perspective,

They need to sell the team, get a new GM and a new Manager. Not one of the 3, all 3 of those things need to happen.

And I legit don't think that ANY of them will happen. Sigh

No. At no point did I think 3 runs was enough to get it done in L.A. against that lineup. That Dodgers lineup is just too good and at this point our bullpen is legitimately one of the worst in baseball.

Our offense has averaged 2.75 runs per game on this road trip. Take out the outlier, the 10 run game in Pittsburgh, and they're averaging basically 1.7 runs per game. They can't hit and they can't score, especially on the road.

The standings don't even really matter at this point. Houston is red hot, and the M's have imploded. Any chance of winning the division or making the playoffs is a pipe dream. They'll be lucky to finish the season with a winning record.

Jessy Winker hit a pinch hit walk off homer today and went absolutely insane. M's miss that vibe so much. It's a dead a locker room.

Eh, Winky himself has even admitted that he was the problem when he was in Seattle. Poor work ethic and bad attitude. By the end of the season the team and his teammates were over it and just didn't want to deal with him anymore. He's obviously learned from it and changed, but when he was here he wasn't a team player and was just straight up a bad teammate and a locker room cancer.

https://www.jsonline.com/story/spor...-jesse-winker-beloved-by-brewers/70119536007/

"Winker’s time in Seattle didn’t go well in any facet, really. He had a career-worst season at the plate, batting just .219 with 14 homers and a .688 OPS, and he battled injuries that he admits affected his mood. As Winker’s personality soured, so did relationships in the clubhouse. He acknowledges that he wasn't the person or teammate he needed to be.

“How I behaved, I have to take accountability of that, and I do. I didn’t handle things right,” Winker said.

After Winker wasn’t with the team for their two playoff series last year a beat reporter for the Seattle Times said during a radio appearance that Winker wasn’t a good teammate, didn’t put in enough work and the team grew tired of him."

"Winker says he isn’t still particularly close with anyone from the Mariners, and that’s in large part because he never opened himself up enough to establish any kind of deeper relationships."

"The only things I can be accountable for are my lack of production and my behavior, and it wasn’t great last year. That’s that.”

Not buying it lol.... Dude probably wanted out. Team got worse without him.

Lol, not buying what? The quotes in that article are from Winky himself. He's literally admitted that his attitude and behavior were a problem.

The guy was an experienced, veteran, professional baseball player being paid millions of dollars to do his job. He chose to be a little bitch instead of being a pro. I'm being a bit harsh, but he has literally admitted as much.

And he wanted out? Of a team that won 90 games, won a playoff series in Toronto, and made it to the ALDS? Lol. That team was all about camaraderie and good vibes. If Winky didn't want to be a part of that, that says a lot more about him than it does about that team.

I like the GM TBH but the owner handcuffs him on spending, I do think we
need a manager that motivates and can teach the fine points of hitting.
I'd love to see Edgar get a shot.. Kearly suggested Ibanez, I don't know
about that choice.
This season is done, I cannot wait for the guys in Everett now - That pumps
me up because it's big time talent that can hit.

Lmao. M's DH position has been a complete disaster the past 2 seasons probably the worst position they've had...they would have been better off keeping Winker since they let Santana go. He has an edge to him he's competitive and wants to win.
Would Winky's stats dip a little at home? Probably, because of the park and Ms "offensive coaching strategy". Letting go of Santana, Winker, Teo and replacing them with Garver and Pollack. Brutal.

What does any of that have to do with what we were talking about, and what you said you weren't buying despite direct quotes from Winky-Dink himself admitting that his attitude and behavior were a problem?

Good for him for getting his shit together, but he's not here anymore because while he was here he was a mediocre player and a bad teammate with a bad attitude, bad behavior, and poor work ethic. Dude sure as shit didn't give a crap about winning when he was on that playoff team that sure could've used "good Winker". Instead of doing his best to help his teammates, he chose to check out and wear out his welcome by acting like a little bitch. The guy absolutely had to go. You can't keep a guy like that around.

So when do they fire someone? Before or after we have zero shot at getting back in the payoff race? 2nd worse record since being 10 games up. It’s like the 1995 team, in reverse
