Best team w/out a doubt. We just have too many guys injured right now. I suspect we go 1-2 in this series. Hope to be surprised.

The Phillies are starting to show cracks and have lost several series' in a row now. Bryce Harper is in a major slump. I could see the M's taking 2 of 3.

Phillies for the first time all year are in a slump. Good timing to play them. But I'm going to guess Philly takes 2 of 3 because I simply don't trust the Ms coaching staff to utilize their players.

Nah. Way too many M's guys out right now. And, they are the best team in baseball. Slump or not.
1-2 in this series.

And what have you seen from the Ms that makes you think they can take advantage of a slumping Phillies team?? Besides sweeping the worst team in mlb history

We need a huge fight really.. To get this team going,
just hit Harper when he crowds the plate with a heater. I'm tired of losing nice
and all the BS excuses.

If they lose the series Scotty would laugh, then say it's hard to win against a good team. Just like he laughed and smiled after being asked about blowing a 10 game division lead (literally laughed and smiled).

LFG. Perfect day to hit baseballs in seattle too.

Did anyone else notice Turners grand slam ball hit someone directly in the face? Didn't look good gonna need ice packs on that one.

Nice way to start the series. Brought the whoopin' sticks tonite.

Woo for 7 full innings. Great outing for him. Let's hope he recovers well.

Damn Diaz really sucked for 2/3 of an inning there.

From my perspective, what I see is a team that is putting forth the effort to regroup and survive while a couple of their best players are on the mend.

The additions of Robles, Arozarena and Turner have really helped the offense. Julio and JP need to realize that they don't need to the guy everyday... because if everyone in the lineup does their job reasonably well from this point forward, the offense will be just fine with this pitching staff.

I feel that the team has turned the corner and is ready to make a two-month push to the playoffs.

Scored ten runs without a hit from Julio, JP, Cal or Ty France today. Who would have thunk it?
Is it not kind of weird that the team is hitting so well without JRod?
I think Robles is the perfect leadoff man, he reminds me of Dexter
Fowler during the Cubs WS year.

It really does go to show you that when forced to change a lineup due to injuries, etc…sometimes results in higher production.

Good to great coaches tend to recognize trends and hot streaks (as well as slumps and when a player should sit) prior to injuries forcing them to make changes.

My .02 cents.

Turner seems to be the in game hitting coach they needed to get guys to take better ABs. It's literally been night and day. Just goes to show you that sometimes the off-feild coaches can be preaching their azzes off but sometimes it requires a dude in the trenches with you... I don't think Turner is saying anything different than the coaching staff, but he's coming from a different perspective. It'll be interesting to see how Julio hits when he's back with this group.

Sure is nice to have a veteran, professional hitter for the young guys to learn from.
Starting to see a two strike approach and they are beginning to commit 100%.
Something the M's have needed, you could see it when we had Santana too.
