Pete's holy grail is a big tall receiver.

And Russell is the perfect QB to take advantage of one. He does really, really well at putting the ball in a great location when his receiver doesn't have a lot of separation, but does have single coverage and some advantage that allows him to come down with the catch in traffic (highpointing ability, height, etc.).

In the 2009 NFL Draft, the Giants moved up six spots in the third round of the draft to select Barden. The move up for Barden cost the Giants their own third-round pick (91st overall) and one of their two fifth-rounders (164th), which they sent to their division rivals the Philadelphia Eagles. He saw little playing time in his rookie season, participating in 3 games and recording 1 catch for 16 yards. In his second season he had 5 catches for 64 yards in 3 games before being placed on injured reserve on November 16, 2010 after breaking his ankle and suffering ligament damage. Place on the Active/Physically-Unable-To-Perform List on on July 29, 2011. He returned to action on November 6, 2011, catching 2 passes for 24 yards in a win against the New England Patriots 24-20. On a September 20, 2012 vs. the Carolina Panthers, with Hakeem Nicks out with a foot injury, Barden had his breakout performance with a 9 catches for 138 yards.

On August 31, 2013 The Giants released Ramses Barden

It is kind of ridiculous how hard it has been for them to find a reliable big WR that can have a roll with this team for the long haul.

Harbaugh too.

Barden was a freaking monster in his senior year at Col Poly. Being from CA I really liked him and have really rooted for him, but he hasn't been anything special in the NFL. All-in-all I definitely think he's worth bringing in for a workout, and definitely seems like the type of guy the Hawks would be interested in.

Clearly, this means Harvin's leg has actually fallen completely off and he'll never play for the Seahawks ever.

I understand your post was tongue-in-cheek but the timing of this does give me the willies a little since this guy was released in August.

I sure wish we saw more of these "Hawks work out so-and-so" threads about offensive linemen. I get that "the answer" may not be out there but I don't think "the answer" is named Paul McQuistan either...for any length of time.

They also worked out Danny Coale (ex-Cowboys) and Mike Thomas (ex-Cards).

Injuries and a general plodding inability to gain separation have doomed Barden in the NFL.

Another Mike Williams. He might help us in the short term, you never know.

Think it has more to do with Rice's ACL tear, honestly.

Also, so let it be written, so let it be done.

I think it would have been fun to watch Wilson throwing to BMW back in the day. Who knows, big bodied dude that can go up. Wonder what it was that the Giants didn't love about him since it looks like they went out of their way to get him in the first place.
