Absolutely agree. Wasn’t Eeyor’ing. Just that the priority need(s) were Guard and LB.

As nothing was available there, I think JS and MM did as good as they could.

Maybe you should. Free your mind a little bit because I don’t know how you can declare this trade as unnecessary when the Seahawks in actuality just put him in their uniform even if was to augment a strength.

Nah, dude there was weeks if not more of due diligence for fit and need balanced with having to bargain for his services. In a perfect world, we give up next to nothing and we don’t have to sit here and argue 19 pages in.

But to actually debate against what I quoted:

11 of his receiving TDs were 40+ yards. Third best since 2022.

He had scored 8 TDs within a 21 game stretch when Derek Carr was his QB. Part of which he wasn’t a full time starter yet. Carr being the best QB he’s played with.

Shaheed also has 15 total TDs in 42 games. JSN has 14 TDs in 42 games. You arent complaining about JSN’s lack of scores, right?

Horton is promising but you cannot rely on a just a rookie especially deep into the season when first time pros start to fatigue and hit walls because they are only used to playing 12-13 games.

If anything you should be happy for Horton, because it gives him another player to learn and sponge from, especially a player with very similar size, athleticism, and skillset. It will also give Horton better matchup advantages to keep doing what he’s been doing because he’s going to be further down the list of priorities for defenses.

And the fact that Horton and Shaheed complement each other very well in terms of their scoring abilities. Most of Horton’s scores have come within or close to the Red Zone while Shaheed’s scores have been home-runs from further out. So, potentially Seahawks just frankenstiened together the perfect #2 WR to pair next to JSN, and perhaps pushed Kupp into the #3/slot specific role once he gets healthy where he can play more to his current strengths as a blocker and moving the chains in crucial situations and being counted on less as a big time play-maker.
