I agree with everyone who says that this could really open up the running game, by forcing other teams to not pack the box so tightly. With good hands WRs/TEs in the short game and speedsters in middle and long routes other teams will need to account for everything and neglect stuffing the run so much. Then, BOOM. A 25-yard run from K9 or Charbs.

I don’t think this trade was necessary, and we overpaid.

Overpaid? We will more than likely get a comp pick or two, we didn’t overpay. This opens up our O, and allows our running game to get going also.

People complaining about giving up two picks that are toss up’s to even make the team, for a guy who will be able to take the top off and be a clear #2 WR. Just like gambling more than winning games

not if he re-signs with us.

And quite frankly, the NFL can keep the comp pick if we have this guy with his skill long-term next to JSN and Horton.

How good of a returner is he? Elite or just good? I know he has non special teams strengths but just curious.

He was selected to the Pro Bowl as a return specialist in 2023, the same year he was named a first-team All-Pro punt returner.

But that's not why they acquired him though having him return kicks from time to time will also be his role.

Doesn’t have to just be for him. I assume we will get one from someone leaving. We got 3 last year fwiw

Two day 3 picks for a WR that is top 20 in receptions, and top 25 in yards this season.

In case you didn't notice, we had to elevate a WR from the practice squad to the active roster last Sunday because we had 3 WR's out with injuries. Also, our next most productive WR after JSN is Kupp. Kupp is currently 86th in receptions, and 67th in receiving yards.

But we didn't need a WR?

Says he wants to stay in Seattle. Good start!
To be fair, they always say that.

But I certainly hope he is serious with that thought. At least now I do. I'll watch him a few games and see how it goes, but it sounds like he's trying to fit in and help the team win.

The good news is that JS has exclusive rights to negotiate with him so if the cost isn't too high, he'll be sticking around as as Seahawk for awhile.

When might the hawks put him in the line up? This week against the cards or hold him out a week till the rams game?

I'm pretty sure he'll play Sunday. Might only know a few plays, but they'll get him out there ASAP. Still short on WRs, so they'll probably have to call one up from the Ready Squad.

Macdonald's press conference didn't address that, but given that he knows Kubiak's offense and he'll be here for the installation of the game plan, I would expect to see at least some plays on Sunday.
