I’m in the same boat. Thing is that Mafe had a couple of decent years prior and a is FA from the SB winner with an outstanding D. Some team looking to shore up their end position might value him on those factors and make an offer the hawks don’t want to match. Probably worth a late comp pick.
How much are his '25 11 solo tackles and 2 sacks worth. Both are sub-150 for the position.

Hard to predict. I could easily see a team offering $5-6m annually, which I doubt the hawks match. Possibly $8-10m for a rebuild team thinking they’re getting a B level end on a bargain.

We’re guilty of signings like these historically…fortunately not as much anymore.

Shaheed will cost $12-15M. I’ve been assuming Kupp would be a cap casualty, but who knows? We have enough cap next year to resign all our FA if we just want to run it back.
My prediction for Kupp is... prior to the start of next year, Coop and the team will renegotiate his contract to lessen his 2026 and 2027 cap hits... adding void years and making his contract team-friendly after 2026.

I believe that Coop will be on the field in 2026 but not 2027... just my take.

I'm somewhat concerned about losing Dareke Young in FA after this year.

I suspect some WR-needy team will pay him something north of $5M/year as an elite special-teamer and potential #2 or #3 receiver on their roster... and I doubt that John matches that considering all the higher priority players he wants to retain for 2026 and 2027.

Yep...totally agree. I'm 80% confident he's here in 2026, and 30% 2027...but hopeful he's interested in a coaching role and MM adds him to the staff. MM's already said he includes Kupp in strategy sessions. Being a local certainly helps.

I am definitely in agreement for putting Kupp on staff if not as a player. Shaheed is a keeper. Walker is a keeper unless some other team goes head over heels into the treasury to snag him. My concern is on the D Line. Who we gonna lose or give up there?
I think our secondary sees movement and I'm not sure you could depend on a pick at any position in this years draft. I would use our picks this years picks as trade fodder in the FA market.

After winning a SB here?
He won with his offense, he has learned abouty how to be a coach and what kind of culture works best, the players are all getting paid, can we pay everyone? Going with someone that needs to build his foundation isn't a bad thing, they all had success with him here.

But good tangential subjects too, like Kupp.

JSN, Shaheed, Horton, and Kupp would be top WR depth in the league. Horton’s contract and voidable years for Kupp can make that happen.
