For all we know, they could be waiting for someone still in the playoffs. Maybe someone like Nagy from KC (it wouldn't really be a lateral move if they gave him play calling duties here).

Just find a guy that can do the damn job. Assistants are fine, but I need ONE guy to execute a singular game plan. I hate the too many cooks, bs. Who do you look at when things aren't working? People start pointing fingers. Well if the OL, well OL could if WRs, WR can do it if the run game, and on and on. Kill me now.

One guy calls the plays that MM sees as a fit for his vision. Simple.
******* exactly

We don't need to distribute the liability. We need to execute.

Yea and if we wait long enough all the candidates that would be any good/would consider us will be gone, and we'll be in purgatory again....

Just get it done.

If we were waiting for someone in the playoffs, I'd think we would have requested to speak to them during the open period. If we're looking at any of them now, I'm guessing we lost out on whoever we wanted originally.

Corbin Smith offered one possible explanation for the delay (says he has no confirmation of this, it's just a theory): Fraley wants to bring Antwaan Randle El along with him as the passing game coordinator. But MM and John want to pair Fraley with a more seasoned coach to help with the offense.
I’ve heard this as well.

Remember when people were losing their minds because we waited so long to hire a HC? How is this any different? Deep breaths.....

There is a risk in waiting for the exact thing you want (holding out for candidates who are still exporing other opportunities or who are on teams in the playoffs) and in the process, losing out on other viable candidates who end up going elsewhere.

It could also just be that they are fi e losing out on Fraley, Udi and Kubiak because they arent high on them.

If thats the case, they better be solid on whoever they think will be better.
