The more I hear about this family, I think we're going be ok. We'll just have to get past the Niners thing. It sounds like this was Jody's preferred buyer. She wouldn't have sold the team to someone she thought would be a bad fit.
The only issue is Paul Allen stipulated that the team be sold to the highest bidder , maximizing the amount to be donated to charity. I don't know if Judy had any type of " deciding " power

Yeah but SF?

I bet it took you 10 years to get rid of the taint smell
In the beginning I was much more into certain players than teams. In Germany I had no background of preferring one team or another due to history or region. After coming to San Juan Island on a regular basis I've joined my friends and became a Seahawks fan. Never looked back!

Exactly the kind of blind allegiance that can sink a ship.

You sign the best players you can regardless of what school they attended.
I was clearly being facetious. I advocate for players every year that came from a number of colleges. When our first pick came up this year, the guy I was pushing for went to Clemson, one of my most hated schools. Hell, I've beat the drum for Michigan players before.

The Niners connection is a nothing burger.

All y’all are huge football fans like me, so let’s be honest. If you were a deca or centa billionaire and you had to chance to purchase a small percentage of your beloved Seahawks would you do it? Yeah, me too.

Now let’s say the Browns or Chargers came up for sale in their entirety. Assuming your companies are self sustaining, is there a cooler “toy” for a lifelong football fan to own more than a franchise? I’d buy the first NFL or NHL franchise I could get my hands on. With only 32 options, you can’t wait for the one you want to come up for sale.

When you have the best ownership in sports, one that LITERALLY saved the franchise you care about from moving, anything new will seem somber.

That said, time moves on, things change. No one can replace the Allen’s, but let’s give this family thie benefit of the doubt and hope for continued success.

From what I gather Vinod' wife Neeru will run the show. Both are in their 70's so I'm guessing their son Neil will take over in a few years. The Khosla's were required by the league to divest their 3% interest in the 49ers. I like the fit. Seems like a family that knows how to operate at a high level and will be fine stewards

Paul Allen paid $194 million for the Seattle Seahawks in 1997. Adjusted for cumulative inflation, that amount is equivalent to approximately $405 million in 2026 money.

For additional context, that initial investment grew into the largest transaction in NFL history, as the Allen estate agreed to sell the franchise to the Vinod Khosla family for a record $9.6 billion in 2026.

Given all the background information (less minority owners), couldn't have asked for a more seamless transition of ownership. I have no doubt that Jody Allen will provide a thoughtful and seamless transfer. John Schneider has two assistant general managers this year to free him up a bit to focus on new ownership orientation to the Seahawks system. New family matches up well as a follow on to the Allen era. Continuation of league leading Organization Structure is intact.

Well done Jody Allen. Well done!

Again just a friendly reminder, please refrain.
