He likely had little to no input with the 49ers. 3.1%…not chump change for the average person but certainly not enough to make organizational wide changes.

A smart, new owner would have a long sit down with Jody and listen to her when she tells them to let JS and MM have the keys to the kingdom and sit back/enjoy.

Not really worried about this…

I can't find much about Neal. Good looking guy, so hopefully we don't need Russ to be the face of anything. Apparently, you can message him on his LinkedIn page. Maybe I'll create an account and advise him to sign more Buckeyes.

Well, it could be a lot worse, BUT....

The thought of the new owner being a lifelong 49ers fan with a current (but in the process of selling) stake of the 49ers ownership raises so many red flags for me, it's a little difficult for me to be enthusiastic about it right now. MAJOR trust issues, hopefully he doesn't mess up a great thing running by feeling the need to dip his fingers in the pie.

Forget the mother and father, it’s the son Neal that we have to be concerned with as it seems he will have a significant role in the organization. Please please please just leave it up to the football folks to make a decisions 🙏

John always said the perception that Paul Allen was hands off was inaccurate.. he was involved in every decision.

Apparently he's one of the greatest venture capitalist in Silicon Valley history.... what that means for owning a NFL team? who knows
Seems to me it means he'll be comfortable taking some risks if the reward has true value...maybe a good fit with JS.

Also, what is it with everyone on .net encouraging new owners to leave decisions to coaches and FO staff when 99% of posts on .net are 2nd guessing coaches and FO staff? I know, I know, I know...I'm just pointing it out.

Weird take.. why the hell would he buy a team for $10B and not put everything into it being successful? who cares about his 49er ties.

Yes, but Paul was a seasoned business professional at that point who helped build a behemoth of a company. I always get concerned when siblings come in to play and try to be “Cowboys”, no pun intended, to make their mark.

Nobody who values money enough to become a multi-billionaire is going to put down $9.6b just to tank a team. I get why some are in wait-and-see mode, but who gives a crap who he grew up rooting for? His allegiance is going to be to the team making him even more obscenely rich.
Lots of stupid billionaire owners over the years in the NFL. Lots of them.

no matter who bought the team, I would have no idea what they will be like as an owner. Just like everyone else here.
