It will be interesting to see who else is involved in this ownership group. If a beloved figure such as Beast Mode were to be part of it, that would hopefully soften the blow for the haters.

I think we have to prepare for a period of time where we don't know. The new owners are new. They, and their team, have a little experience, but it's not going to go 100% perfect. My expectation is that, at the first bump in the road, .net will explode with "the sky is falling" narrative. If we're willing to give an OT a few years to find their footing in the NFL before passing ultimate judgement, we need to recognize it'll take a few seasons for new owners to adjust too. I'm not saying anyone above is being unrealistic. I'm saying that, when a problem (multiple) shows up in the next 24 months, the new team will learn from it and adjust. Reality about this change is still cloudy for a couple years. None of us are abandoning the Seahawks in that period of time. I'm just preparing myself to ride it out and see how it goes...hoping for the best with the understanding that mistakes need to happen in order for growth to occur.

Wins or losses. Playoff success. Exactly what's on my mind.
I'm not saying people shouldn't have concerns and/or how to think about it.
To each his/her own. Guess I just have never really been even remotely worried about it.

One of the most encouraging things I've read about this guy is that Elon apparently hates him. I don't trust any billionaires, but I at least wanted one that wasn't the type to pal around with the Elon/Bezos/Zuck class, accompanying them to black tie galas and gifting them luxury box seats. Sounds like he's at least that.

Even though the new ownership group currently has a small stake in that team south of Seattle, I highly doubt their allegiances stay with that team very long.

When I was in high school, my family moved to a new town before my sophomore year, to a town that was in the same league as the town I grew up in. Both of them are small towns so eventually you know pretty much everyone. I played every sport offered as a kid along with most of my peers. We grew up together, sweated on fields and busted our asses in lots of games and practices over the years. In the town that I grew up in, our house was about two blocks from the football field. I have memories of an early age sneaking into games simply by knowing the best spots to climb the fence or crawl under. If I didn’t go to a game I could hear it from my back porch. That town, that field and those coaches and players were in my blood.

We moved to the new town at the beginning of the summer. I got to know a few of the kids as I became “the new kid”. Once football season started, I quickly became acquainted with my new teammates. I knew virtually nothing about them but learned and got to know them during hot two a days in sweltering August heat.

As luck had it, our first game was a road game at, yep, my hometown against kids I’d known most of my life. I was a sophomore and didn’t play all that much. I remember distinctly standing on that opposite sideline seeing most of my childhood on the other side. Some of the seniors took it upon themselves to trash talk to me about what losers the other team was. Sure. Haha. I had just moved from a town where our freshman team went undefeated. The HS team was essentially a regular playoff team contender. Not so much the new town and team.

Even though I was now part of this new school and team, my allegiances were still tied to my old school. Maybe because I wasn’t playing much as a sophomore or maybe because I had just moved, I found myself quietly rooting for my old team and friends. They kicked our ass btw, which was no surprise to me but our coach wasn’t too happy about.

Anyway that was the only time I ever felt that way in any sport against my old school. Every chance I got to play against my old school and friends I brought everything I had. After that very first game I wanted to beat them so bad. It never did happen in football but it never really surprised me just pissed me off.

My point is, these new owners may have been whiner fans for a long time and bought a stake in the team, but clearly they will be Seahawks fans like the rest of us and absolutely cherish destroying their old favorite team as much as possible.

Probably the biggest difference between my story and that of the new owners is that I didn’t have to pay almost 10 billion dollars to change allegiances.

The ole “your buddies with so and so, so I can’t be buddies with you” huh?

Almost everyone in my neighborhood hates my next door neighbor, but I get along with all of them. Including the hated one.

Players, coaches, etc. come from other teams. Teams can't just only hire local, not realistic.
Being niners fans growing up doesn't mean they won't do well here.

Highly doubt someone is going to spend $10 billion to tank an organization. This he was a small owner of SF thing is a nothingburger and a non-issue. Completely blown out of proportion.

Well just think he watched us beat the 49ers twice last year watched us win a Super Bowl in the 49ers home field as well, probably started watching them after they won one their last one about 30 years ago, now Neal can say I have half as many Super Bowl trophies as the 49ers and only owned them a couple weeks.

A few thoughts on our new owners:
  1. To all the racists
    In their homeland:
The Khosla are either Hindu Indians living in Punjab, where the majority are Shik Punjabi. That makes the Khoslas a minority in their homeland. or
The Khosla were Punjabis but adopted Hinduism, which again, made them minorities. Indian culture and history are fascinating. I have been reading and watching indian movies just to learn.

    In Silicon Valley:
Indians are a minority, an overachieving minority for that matter; they are well adjusted to jealousy-fueled side eyes.

They are mentally prepared and tough; words won't bother them.

  2. 49ers factor
Most, almost all, first-generation immigrants in the Silicon Valley working in tech industry are 49ers fans. LOL, they won't identify with the Raiders.

Khoslas are self-made multi-billionaires, Yorks? John York married into money, Jed York is a lightweight silver spoon. No, Khoslas have no respect for the Yorks.

  3. Other investors
Khosla, with a net worth of $15b just bought the Hawks for $9b, and he's a venture capitalist. Don't be surprised that he has other investors joining him.

This.

If i was them I'd watch and learn for a year without doing anything stupid. JS knows his shit, and after being partial owners of the digits - they should have some concept of league politics and stuff.

Hopefully they do that. If they come in with a weed whacker for some mysterious reason, it won't go well. I could see JS going to Green Bay - there's always that in the background if things got weird.

And 'why' you'd **** with anything MM is doing would be beyond my comprehension.

He was only a small portion owner for 1 year. This was leverage with an eye on the future owning a team. The league likes people that they have had previous relations with before they give them full control over a team. I don’t think the 9ers were anything deep for them.

Like it or not it will be a huge ask for the new owners to be anything as good as we had previously. The Allens were unicorns as far as sports ownership goes. There is really only one direction to go. Hopefully it will not be to far down. Time will tell.
