The Rams will use him better than Pete and Waldo
Definitely. McVay knows how to use tight ends. Plus he was third on the depth chart last year behind Fant and Dissly. He's listed as second on the Rams behind Higbee.

I liked the guy, but I just didn't think we could afford him at that price.

I know highlight reels often cherrypick, but after watching Garrison's, I'm scratching my head wondering how he went unclaimed so long. Does he have leprosy?
At his pro day he ran a 4.98 40 and benched 10 reps at 225lbs. Mike Tice can probably hit these numbers today!

I wonder why they didn't retain
Parkinson ? I can understand
With Dissly.
The Seahawks had 3 potential TE1s, (or at least 2 plus Dissly). Players want to be paid their market value regardless of where they are on their current team's depth chart. Spotrac estimated Parkinson's value at $6.6M per season. The Rams guaranteed him $7.75M for 2 years knowing that their 2023 starter would be unlikely to return from injury for 2024. Even if the Seahawks had matched the Rams offer he may have preferred a starting role to being behind Fant. It's just business.

So, he's faster than Bobo? This guy is looking better and better.

The fact of his last name is Bobo makes him more desirable. Can anyone without looking it up answer where the clip above is from?

Makes a lot of sense. I liked the idea of Parkinson , his height etc. and always wanted him to be a bigger part of the offense. Seattle obviously had their plan regarding what they wanted in a TE . I can understand why a player would do what he did.

Of course now that he isn't on the Seahawks, and yet worse on the Rams ( I think)
I hate him and wish pestilence and death upon him.

Kidding of course (kind of)

As a point of comparison, Noah Fant ran a 4.5 and did 20 reps at 225. Colby Parkinson ran a 4.77 and did 18 reps. George Kittle ran a 4.55 and did 18 reps.

Parkinson played just under 500 offensive snaps for the Seahawks in 2023. The Rams expect their starting WRs and TEs to play 90%+ of offensive snaps. Parkinson may be in for a rude awakening if/when he's asked to play 900+ snaps in 2024.

Parkinson was good but underused by the Seahawks. McVay will turn him into a Pro Bowler. Still, every good offense needs a long, curly flowing locks TE to add style to their offense.
