I don't think there is a single fan on this board that hasn't had an opinion about a move or non move this org has made at one time or another. So every one of us think we know something. Don't really need to point fingers at each other.

I don't think JS is ignoring the O-line, I think he thinks the guys we have now will be much much better in the new zone blocking scheme being installed on the offense. Now, I do think JS should spend on at least one O-line player. They offered Fries 3 years 55 mil and Fries went with the better offer in Minnesota. He's at least trying, but in my opinion, he too try harder and get an O-line player or two on this god damn team.

Not making the decisions for the team doesn’t invalidate my opinion. If you disagree that’s great. That is what this place is about. There’s no reason to try to invalidate another opinion unless you just can’t come up with a better argument than “well they must always be right since they work there”. If that’s your only argument then you’ve already lost.
That's one thing I've always been annoyed at with some posters here, and I'm not talking about who you're quoting specifically. Feels like sometimes you can't even voice a genuine opinion without getting dismissed with belittlement. I could understand jokingly saying it, but there's a difference between that and being an asshat.

It's a fine line between being critical of the Front Office and acting like you should be the one in charge. Absolutely nothing wrong with voicing opinions on deals or non-deals. The 24/7 bashing of every last thing they do and/or assuming the worst EVERY time gets old.
Assumptions are not facts. We will never truly know what goes on behind closed doors, period. It's fun to speculate though.

It's strange how our offensive coaching staff changes and now all of a sudden all of our old, scrub lineman have experienced a rebirth and re-tread depth signings look like borderline starters.

So odd.
It's not when you look at the history of our O lone coach. he's done this elsewhere. Guys go from scrubs to borderline great under this guy. Like a full 20 or 30 point on PPF improvement.

I also look at the youth we have on the line. Most of these guys are on their rooky deals, many are at the 2/3 year time when O-Linemen are thought to come into their own. Throw in the improved coaching and I'm hoping we have this crew together for several years. Continuity is always a plus for the O-line group.

With Charles Cross still out with the finger injury, Josh Jones started at left tackle with the other starters in the first two preseason games, and he played pretty well. (73.0 on PFF)

Not sure what people were complaining about when we signed him, as a backup, for a reasonable amount. He's an improvement over Stone Forsythe, who he replaced. Jones did start at left tackle for the Cardinals, so he's got some experience and he's still young.

I'm still in wait-and-see mode with our OL. I need to see them in action together into the regular season. They'll get some tests right out of the gate against the 49ers and Steelers. So much of our success this year is going to be dependent upon their play. I'm hoping they can be a middle of the pack unit this year. That would be a great improvement. A better offensive scheme will help them look better.
