That always seems imo an area we usually have problems with. Whether it’s lack of talent or lack of bodies.

This was covered yesterday early (starting around 9:30 AM Seattle time) in the sticky thread "2024 SEAHAWKS Depth Chart and Roster Moves," always easy to find at the top of the "Seattle Seahawks Football" forum.

And that's not surprising at all, because @jammerhawk, @kidhawk, @Hawkstorian, and @Jville are well-informed and quick to post in that thread about Seahawks roster moves when they happen.

I'll sometimes see a "breaking-news" alert about a Seahawks roster move, and when I get to the thread to post my scoop, I see that one of those guys has beaten me to it, and sometimes not by a little.

Ah ha, Myers is now the latest .Net whipping boy, low hanging fruit.

it’s the freaking preseason, he also kicked a 50 yard FG. Something needs to fixed in his leg swing to correct these PAT misses., sort of like the golfer Yips. I’m sure the team is working on it. For the most part he’s a solid kicker but sure frustrating at times.

Thanks for the props Lagartixa but my partners on that roster thread are highly competitive, alert and very diligent posters; with everyone’s help that roster thread can really be a useful resource.

Back on point. It’s a health thing with all the TEs several of the younger guys have had nagging injuries that are keeping them from practicing at all or much at all. As a result the team needs warm bodies to practice with, though I suspect neither of the two new guys will make the team.

Parkinson is from southern California and wanted to go back there. It would have taken more money from the Seahawks to keep him. I think that .net would have killed Schneider if he signed Parkinson at $24 million for 3 years. That's a lot for a second string TE.

The sticky thread for roster moves is to keep info on transactions made by the organization in one organized place. These individual threads are for discussion about said transactions.

IIRC, John wanted to re-sign Parkinson, but Williams's deal took too long to get done and that allowed the Lambs to sweep in and sign Parkinson.
That makes sense. This kind of thing happens every off-season , and not just Seattle.

Off topic ...

I wonder how badly , if at all John Schneider wanted to retain Jordan Brooks ? IIRC Schneider said something similar to the effect of " Miami swooped in so fast , we didn't have a chance to even speak with him". I know he made a lot of tackles but he didn't seem like a game changing type of player to my untrained eye.

Back to Parkinson , if Seattle really wanted him they would've figured out a way to make it work. They had their reason(s) whatever they were.

...I just got hyped up for him. Seems like a hard worker that will do what it takes to reel in catches and has some nice jukes also.
the kid definitely has some reall potential to kill it.

Garrison has a 6'6" 240 frame and averaged nearly 17 yards per reception the past two seasons, which is phenomenal for a TE. He looks like a big play waiting to happen. Obviously, expectations are tempered if he was still available so shortly before the season starts, but I really hope he shows enough to at least nab a practice squad spot. We don't have a game breaking TE threat currently.

Also, the Pitt State Gorillas is an awesome nickname. I'm surprised Garrison's last game was against my alma mater, which is just some D2 school in Michigan, and I didn't realize that was their name. I clearly didn't watch it.

As the OP on the roster thread your point is essentially correct however we are all free to discusss roster moves within that thread and it isn't solely purely informational.

Just saying.

I know highlight reels often cherrypick, but after watching Garrison's, I'm scratching my head wondering how he went unclaimed so long. Does he have leprosy?
