Who knew he could have played the villain? Every Seahawks fan and every Seahawks player and employee who saw that schmuck talk about how he went to Denver because wanted to go to a city (fan base) that wanted to win, and that he was glad to be going to a team he wouldn't need to carry.

But watching the villain getting his comeuppance to the point of becoming a league-wide laughingstock kinda (totally) made his whole "heel turn" (in the pro-wrestling sense, not the ballroom-dance sense) really f**kin' enjoyable

And then there’s Mrs Ciara Princess Wilson with Serena Williams in what appears to be The View 2.0 or whatever show it is where middle age women drink wine onstage at 9 am.

Russ has been demoted to qb3 behind Winston who likely starts this weekend. Looks like the end of the road for Russ's career.

The Seahawks and Pete Carroll were the best things to ever happen to Me3. He should have just shut up, kept his head down, and kept playing COMPLIMENTARY football. He was a lock for the HOF at one time, now he's just a complete joke. Who's going to pay this guy to even be their backup, moving forward? Not a good quarterback and everywhere he lands they can't move on from him fast enough.

Man….

Other than criminal acts, has there been a more precipitous fall from grace than Russell Wilson.

From all world Canton bound to third stringer on a shit team.

As much as he bothers me at times, I seriously feel embarrassed for him and his deafness to the sound of reality. There is no greater sign of hubris than feigned humility.

I still question what if anything Russell had to do with Daboll’s firing. Daboll had demoted Russ after three games for a rookie that immediately won. Daboll did not look thrilled when Russ took the field time before this. My impression always had been that Daboll was adhering to the wishes of those who had guaranteed Russ 8.5m to ride him out at qb2 until he played badly for long enough in relief that everyone could just agree theyd seen enough. I bet Daboll would have done the same as Kafka did in elevating Jameis.

The last time RW served as emergency qb3, when he was hurt on the Steelers, he used it as a coaching opportunity. As in, he’d be out there on the sidelines running with coaches and then communicating with the other qbs. His fellow qbs already see him as a valued uncle.

As attested to by Daniel Jones, CJ Beathard and Ben DiNucci, qb3s are often told to sub in as scout dbs or on special teams. No way will Russ like that but it comes with the territory.

I don’t see the giants firing Russ nor do I see him asking for his release. It’s not like they’re going to get a better qb3.

I like that...feigned humility.

Yeah, this has got to be it for him as a potential starter somewhere. Even as a backup, I'm not sure who'd want him, or if he'd be fine with such a role. Call it quits at season's end, Russ.

Uh, you mean this?

I’ve thought Russ’ demotion to qb3 was only a matter of time. Jameis is contracted through 2026 whereas Russ is not. I don’t see a baker mayfield situation where he’s granted a release and goes on to be the interim starter anywhere. Or even qb2.

RCWs saving grace was that the Broncos were paying for him to play for the Steelers. He outplayed his 1.5million contract the Steelers paid him. (The Broncos paid him 35 mil to go away/play for the Steelers, sorry, re-hash) He was able to parlay some middling play, early last season into a 1 yr contract with the Giants for 40% of pay of a good NFL starter. This was his best accomplishment, on or off the field, in 5 years.

Schlereth was on Wymans podcast this week and right at the end he roasts RCW: 2 sacks at a critical part of the game and both were 100% on him...roll out directly into an unblocked rusher...such a Russ thing to do.

Blowing a 2nd half lead 2 games in a row finalized Dabolls end. Russ didn't cause it, but he also didn't help.

Moral of last 5 yrs: The only way RCW will save your job is if you figure out a way to get rid of him. Think about it...consistently true.

Lol, I see what you’re saying but I still don’t think Russ would be a legitimate reason to fire Daboll. Daboll demoted Russ after week 3. Daboll looked to me like he was following the script of “have you seen enough” to validate the elevation and evaluation of Jameis.
