KJ is a freak with length. I think he makes a great MLB.
This is why I think KJ should be in the middle. I think Bobby would be better on the outside being able to use his speed to blitz around the edge. Imagine Bruce and Bobby rushing around each edge. That is beastly considering they are two of the fastest linebackers in the league.

The difference is not Wright in the middle. The difference is Smith at OLB.

Exactly! Smith might not bring the WOW factor that Irvin does, but his game is much more sound and his instincts are clearly better. This coaching staff likes to pretend that draft position/pay has no bearing on playing time, but starting Irvin over M. Smith says otherwise, IMO.

No. I was talking about starting Smith over Wright.

Best line up is probably Smith, Wagner, Irvin.

Wright can sub in at all three positions and play goallineblitz defense.

All amazing problems to have now!
But I agree Smith has been playing unreal. He needs to be on the field in some capacity on a regular basis.

SF has a pretty great rush offense, and we held their RBs to less than 2 ypc. I doubt St. Louis running wild is all on Wagner.

Correct but the eb and flow of every game changes things statistically. Gore historically destroys our defense and yes even recently. Whitout looking it up I want to say his highest average is against us.
