Let's assume for the sake of argument that Suh wants out of Detroit for reasons that are not in fact about the money.
That leaves three options:
Sign elsewhere
Sign with Detroit
Retire
Let's explore:
If he wants out of Detroit, he's probably got some places in mind where he wants to go. He'll visit them and see who wants to pay him the most. Does this go against it not being about the money? No, because he leaves Detroit which was his non-monetary goal. The fact he took the best deal elsewhere is merely not being an idiot.
He's too young and valuable in the league to retire, so I think it's safe to rule that one out. However, it would definitely be a statement that not wanting to be n Detroit is definitely not about the money.
That leaves the unlikely scenario of staying in Detroit. This would only happen is Detroit threw money at him that would be too stupid for him to refuse. Even at this, I would suggest his reasons for wanting out of Detroit were not about the money, but not quite enough to be not about ridiculous amounts of money.
I still think that's fair for a guy who says it's not about the money - many of us would do things we wouldn't otherwise do if we had sufficient monetary incentive and it was not against laws or morals. Would you move to Nome, Alaska for 4 years for $30 million? I would. Point me to the parkas and polar-bear-repellent.

jblaze":3hbi4rad said:Sorry chief, it's a pipe dream. If you listen to the pundits and people in the know, they place this at like 5% happening. If you look at the cap situation, it's even less likely.
It could happen, hell anything COULD happen, doesn't mean it should or will happen.
If Jacksonville is the only team that gives him a decent offer - entirely possible given his head - it's still better than Detroit without being bout the money. There are many reasons to get out of Detroit, most of which were covered brilliantly in the original RoboCop. That is one dead-ass town.Bitter":bf7dvkf0 said:Absolutely I would, saying "it is all about the money" all the way there and back. Just saying don't treat the fans like they are stupid. A-rod said it wasn't about the money when he signed with Texas. If Suh signs somewhere like Jacksonville saying it isn't about the money that makes him a liar that thinks we are all stupid. If he signs in Jacksonville for maximum dollar and never says "it isn't about the money" I say good for him. If it is about the money, then he should get every cent he can.

Get that? This man is a loose cannon in the field; and he's one of the most dominant players in history. We have no idea what he holds near and dear to him.
Let this thread take its hold, we'll all know much more in a month or so - but there's not a damn thing wrong with entertaining the idea that HE REALLY WANTS TO BE HERE AND WIN.

"We" also weren't having to consider signing Bennett and Avril and having to deal with signing Russell Wilson at the time.
The Lions would have to make some pretty deep cuts to even consider tagging Suh.
He is a classless jerk, but he'd be OUR classless jerk. We're already hated, might as well run with it.seahawk12thman":3ajb5hy9 said:Gee and all this time I thought he was a classless jerk. If he becomes a Seahawk he is instantly a hero!! Awesome...........
