My personal opinion is I never even thought this game was some sort of redemption for XLIX. I get that some do. Meh. Completely different players. None of which care.

Thoughts?

It makes the sting less painful but as you said nobody there from that time except Kraft, the pick 6 at then was more of a rub their nose in it moment to know what a gut punch felt like from that day. I did like Lynch's commercial however.

It obviously doesn't erase that stupid decision in the first go-around, and the fact that they should now have 3 Lombardi's instead of 2. But what it does do, is it keeps obnoxious Pats fans from hanging a super bowl victory over our heads, cause if they did, they'd know that we can throw that right back in their faces.

History can’t be erased.

But now pats fans can’t say much right.

A new history has been written.

One stupid play lost that game, this game a complete ass kicking took place. A worse ass kicking than the score reflects. Any Pats fan that knows anything about football should keep the Seahawks out of their mouths. We now have plenty of ammunition to fight back, not only fight back but win the fight.

I know it doesn't seem that way, but one play did not lose that game. We blew a 10 point lead in the 4th. Never should have come down to it.

That's how I felt, too. Not just completely different players, it was also completely different coaches. Had it occurred a couple seasons following SB49, then yes. But it's been 11 years, and I've long since put that game behind me. I never once thought about it, not during the lead-up or in the aftermath.

As a matter of fact, the next morning when I went to fetch a copy of the Seattle Times for a friend who was assembling a collection of headlines, when I saw "Redemption" in big, bold letters spread across the front page, it took me a few moments before I realized the significance.

For me, it wasn’t redemption. As mentioned, different era. Although we lost a big lead in that previous game, we still basically handed it to them at the end (or, threw it to them if you will).

I can see how some would see it as redemption but it didn’t feel like that to me.

I don't know. I mean this Pat's team doesn't have a Brady/Belicheck aura. Unless they bring it back next season. We start a rivalry.

I've had to watch a decade worth of replays of the INT. I remember laying face down in my living room for a solid 20 minutes. My wife and I didn't talk for a solid hour.

It was a fast end to a dynasty in the making.

This doesn't make up for that, but boy -- does it create its own special place. I will forever remember LX. Forever remember this team. Forever remember the run. I'm grateful that I get to remember this.

Even though we won SB LX against the same team, it has done little to reduce the reverberating "We should have won that game" echo in my skull that has been there since February 1, 2014. That said, had I been allowed to pick from any of the AFC opponents to beat in LX, I probably would have picked the the Patriots, so I'm happy that's who it turned out to be.

If this had been us beating the Steelers in such fashion as we did with the Pats..that would have felt more like a redemption game to me. I hope to still see that one day in my lifetime.

The lazy narrative that we should have just given the ball to our RB and we would have won will never die. Especially since that RB loves to feast on that story.

And we're just getting started. 😤 💪

Would love to go to SoFi next February and make that our home next. :devilish:
