There was no one who had a larger impact on a consistent basis for negative plays than Bradford. He is awful. Truly awful.
So true. The one sack on Darnold in the SB, as I recall, was by him. He lets the guy get inside and could have followed the guy and blocked him again to protect Sam but once the guy got by he just quit on the play. Like usual. He seems like a really good dude, but upgrading there would be so good for us.

Riq was like him for the defensive side. I hope they are able to upgrade and move on from both of them this off season.

Go Hawks!

He's not as bad as people make him out to be. He's good enough to start and win with. He's young and can still grow. You always have to bring in competition though. I have read reports that Cabledue is a guy they really like and picture him taking over. My guess is after Bradford's contract is done which is end of next year. That means I do think Bradford starts next year and then we let him walk for Cabledue (or Haynes if he progresses)

Was it on that play once he got beat, he ended up knocking Walker who was going to help on the play?

I think its highly likely he's the starter next year whether we like him or not. When he misses its in spectacular fashion but he also shows some wow plays. I fully believe he's our worst starter but he has improved and is young. He drove me nuts this year but I have a feeling he's the starter next year.

At the very least they'll have some competition there during the off season, either with the guys we have now or some more they add.

Just think of how good of shape this club is in this off season. The best I can recall. Cap space, few major holes, only a few contracts up and one of the younger teams in the league.

I'm not frettin' about nothin' this time around. I do hope they find some ways to get better because it'll get tougher next season and I'm sure that they'll find ways to do that with the position were in.

Bradford is incredibly strong, but also incredibly slow. I hope he works on his fitness in the offseason and loses some of his obvious overweight. I also hope the Hawks draft a Zabel-eske RG in the second or third round and have a proper competition for the starting job. Haynes has proven that he is nothing more than a weak backup, he's not the answer.

I think I understand what you're saying in Zabel-eske; but a Zabel-like RG won't be found in those rounds, probably. If we luck into one there, that would be phenomenal news!

The play was at 7:26 left in the 3rd. Hard to get a good view of it. The Mic’d up version happens at 22:08 of that video. One of the wide angles from the back, I can’t find now, shows it better. And Milton W. who is quick and a beast beats him to the inside and over runs Sam to Sam’s left. From the one angle it looks like Bradford has a chance to come back and re engage before he gets the sack. Maybe not since Milton is so fast, but again it shows how often Bradford not just gets beat but then doesn’t seem to respond as well as he might.

I am happy that he has improved like Riq this season, but still would love to upgrade at both positions.

Abe Lucas was a 3d round pick. ;)

But didn't Lucas already have injury concerns, which has sidelined him for us some, as well?

When on the field, Lucas is better than solid, for sure, but was a bit of a risk at the time.

Maybe we get another player like Lucas or Mills with injury, but who comes in to contribute.

IIRC, yes he was coming off an injury from college. But he played most (all) of season one, had that knee issue we were all worried was chronic in year 2, and played every game this year. Check me if I'm wrong, but that is what I remember.

I think you're right (without checking). But I'm getting older, and memory isn't what it used to be, and lazier so I'm not looking it up. I'll trust you on this, sutz.

Ok, I looked it up. I'm such a hypocrite!

When the Seattle Seahawks drafted Abraham Lucas in the third round (72nd overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft, injury concerns were already present. Although the team was aware of his knee issues, they chose to take a chance on his potential. Lucas had a promising rookie season in 2022, starting 16 games at right tackle, but his health became a recurring problem.

  • 2023: He was limited to just six games due to a right knee injury, which required surgery and led to him being placed on injured reserve.
  • 2024: After undergoing another knee surgery in January 2024, he began the season on the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list. He returned in November but was later placed on injured reserve again due to an abdominal injury, finishing the season with only seven starts.
Despite these setbacks, the Seahawks showed confidence in him by signing him to a three-year, $46 million extension in September 2025, indicating they believe he can overcome his injury history and remain a key part of their offensive line. However, his chronic knee condition remains a significant concern, with reports suggesting it has affected his performance and durability.

It would be fantastic to use a lower round pick to get a guy like this, but injury is always additional risk/reward above the average draft risk.

Last year I advocated to trade for Joel Bitonio on Cleveland (I guess Schneider didn't pay attention), who will be a free agent if he doesn't retire. Even if he were 45 years old, Bitonio would be a better RG than Bradford if we can't draft Pregnon or Bisontis.

I will say, our worst OLineman and the Pats worst, are both from LSU. I’m sure Finebaum will be bragging about that

My bad. He had two years worth of injury problems, not just one. Still, he did pretty good this year. Started/played in every game, right?
