Two players that have missed enough time to question whether or not JS is going to commit to them beyond this year, but both are players that, when healthy, make this team better.

But if you were JS, and made the decision to keep just one, which one are you giving the second contract to?

Walker probably wouldn't make the Rams 53-man roster. Lucas would make all 32 NFL teams' rosters. Admittedly he wouldn't be a starter everywhere. You could re-sign him now at a below market-value rate but with guarantees that would hurt the team if he was to get hurt. Alternatively you can wait and compete with 31 other teams in free agency. I don't see him as a must-have so it would depend on his willingness to sign at a discount.

I love me some K9, but they need to wait. Shoot, they need to wait on both. Lucas is a beast when healthy.
Agreed.

When both are healthy, they make a considerable impact. But, “when,” is the key word….

If I had to pick one to keep, I’d keep Lucas, primarily because RB can be had in any draft and I think finding a solid offensive lineman is substantially more difficult to develop.

With that being said, I wouldn’t give Lucas a ton of money either.

I'm kind of just getting tired of people whining about K9, so if they trade him or move on, maybe I'll hear less about how much he sucks, he's not tough, blah blah blah. First it was Russ, then it was DK, now it's K9.

I love both, but you always take the trenches when possible. I say that without even looking at the roster. When you look at the depth it's a no-brainer to go with the line. Linemen tend to have longer more productive careers as well.

Seems like sometimes he just doesn't care much. I'm sure he does, but it SEEMS like he takes plays off. And he def. doesn't seem to want to get his head in there to tackle. Just watch Spoon. THAT is a guy who cares, every single damn play.

Ditto...wait and see with both of them. I agree with Aros that a good tackle is more valuable than a running back, with the possible exception of an exceptional running back in their prime who's shown themselves to be durable and fully committed to maximizing their potential. I am, however, concerned about whether or not Lucas's knee issues are of the chronic variety. I've still never been alleviated about such concerns, unless I missed something. There's still a bit of a mystery surrounding his knee "injury" to me. Has anybody else read a more detailed analysis of his knee problem?

Lucas, depending on his health.

K9 is easily replaceable. Let Walker walk
