Clemons won't start the season on PUP. No way they keep him out the first 6 games.

Well until he's practicing I erred on the side of caution, I also think the staff will as well making sure bases are covered til last minute to activate in case of a unforeseen situation, having a guy here that is a back up already versus having to find one aftyer you released someone.

They can err on the side of caution by keeping him inactive for the first few weeks. 6 weeks is way too long with no options, which is why I suspect they won't go PUP.

Chris,

How do you justify keeping Gresham with Jeanpierre in there too?

I was watching the Detroit game last night and during the broadcast they said Seattle is monitoring the Lions to see which DT's they drop. BTW, Jason Jones looked really good yesterday for the lions.

If Jason Jones didn't have injury concerns, Seattle probably would have resigned him. However, he didn't prove it on his one year deal.

We need to ask the Chiefs who they'd be interested in, in return for TE Tony Moeaki.

This is a great idea. I did not realize that Moeaki might be expendable, but yes.
He isn't they plan on running multiple TE sets similar to San Francisco to take advantage of Smith's accuracy and quick decision making.

Curious...

Is it consensus that we keep Rikshaw Johnson and try to PS Bowie? I understand Rikshaw is sort of needed tackle depth at this point, but they did try both Bailey and Bowie at tackle the other night, right? With passable results, I think. I just really like Bowie and Bailey at this point, and IMO, guard depth is a little easier to come by.

Just my thoughts - other than that I really like the list.

I don't think "consensus". On my 53 projection I have Bowie making it ahead of Johnson. Johnson is a G, Bowie is primarily a T but has been workng at G in practice.

I went with Rikshaw based on his experience in the system and that the team had worked a lot with him last year, Bowie I also like and Bailey, there is also a lot more tape of Rikshaw for teams to scout so teams looking for a lineman may see more. While I think Bowie may be better being a more unknown he may be able to slip under the radar. Chess match more then anything else.

Well he looked really good as a Seahawk too. The problem is he can't stay healthy for 16 games.

This is the first year of the PC/JS era that I am genuinely nervous that we might see a Michael Bennett in 2009 type cut. In particular, it would suck a lot if one of those cuts was Michael Brooks. I get the feeling Spencer Ware will be in another team's uniform next month too, and he'll have a very nice NFL career.

Heh. I'll bet they're all monitoring us closely. Half our third stringers would be starters for the Raiders, Bills, Browns, Titans, and Jaguars.
I dare say Spencer Ware would be a starter for the Packers, too. ;)

After seeing the -12.7 YPC hot mess that was their star draftee, I'd think so. Dude LIVED in the backfield. Had running water and an easy chair and everything.
