Obviously, professional athletes can heal much faster than the normal human being, especially with all of the rehab resources at their disposal. However, you've got to think this will at least take 4-6 weeks to heal. He'll probably be back in time for the Tampa Bay game....
At 300+ lbs....nothing heals fast below the waist. It's clear to most of the posters on this message board that Mr. Okung is pretty "fragile". Our team has not been able to find anyone near the ability of Walter Jones since he retired.
I think some expectations need to be tempered a bit. Are you really faulting the FO for not finding someone as good as a top LT of all time?
I mean, who was better than Jones? Anthony Muñoz? No team is going to have all-pros at every single position for an entire year. It's just not possible.
McQuistan prepped all last week to play guard and had to play LT on the fly against SF which, you know, has a pretty good front 7.
McQusitan was serviceable two years ago at LT when he had the week to prep to play it. No one is going to tell you that he is as good as Okung, but i'd like to believe that the fans have noticed that Cable is pretty good at molding a serviceable O-line.
There are good players on every team. Last week, everyone was freaking out about Boldin like he was the second coming of Jerry Rice. Now everyone is freaking out about JJ Watt, the week after we just beat a team with a pretty damn good D-Line.
If the Seahawks are as good as we all hope they are, they're going to need to prove it by beating good teams. And last i checked, we're 2-0.
