Complaints about offense last week as well - Vikings just shut out Washington.

We also put up 37 points on Atlanta - more than any other team they've faced this year.

Yes, @SoulfishHawk . We won by 4 TDs.

The result is awesome.

Nick Emman-WARRIOR is awesome.

This Defense is awesome.

Scoring just 6 points in the entire First Half however, isn't.

No game is perfect, of course.

But I prefer to play from ahead than from behind, you know?
They were down by 3, twice in the first half. Bouncing back and outscoring ANY opponent 31-3 in the second half is pretty damn good. They made adjustments, something we wanted to see. Darnold played a hell of a lot smarter and confident in the 2nd half, something we wanted to see. Having a sloppy first half doesn't take away my enjoyment of the win.
All in how you look at it, and that's cool.
Anyway, been down this road after just about every win. Not worth it.
I've said my peace. Go Hawks

Looking for things they did wrong, or could do better, is how good teams get better. Griping about someone griping is just more griping.
When coaches and players look at what they did wrong and study that is absolutely how to get better, film is amazing, however when fans look at the mistakes and what the team did wrong it rarely helps the players improve. I’ve tried yelling at the TV, posting convoluted rants on Seahawks.net, I’ve tried being superstitious, I’ve even wrote out a game plan and some formations and stuff but the team never listens to me… do you know who the hell I am!! Clearly - you have been going about this all wrong.

I blame all losses this year on you.

I think we can all agree that it must be a good season when we argue about the quality of the win, and whether the Seahawks won early enough or by a big enough margin.

You can correct me if I'm wrong...

...but those wanting to analyze the weak 1st half against Atlanta (or 2nd halves against the others) are doing so because they seek some kind of assurance that this team can beat the Rams (or the like). They're searching for hope, rather than just letting the game come and play out. These fans come here arguing that our performance is not enough to beat the Rams, the Niners, or other 10-3 teams. 🍿

Certainly the 1st half wasn't some great offensive performance like we saw against previous teams.

But neither did the Hawks let the game get out of hand.

Did you all know that the Rams lost a game they "should have won" against Carolina? Doesn't that mean they cannot beat a team like us?

The logic of some posters here gets so entangled with emotion that it's difficult to have reasonable and yet fan-based discussion.

And those just happy with the win? The entertainment value (especially of the win) overshadows their desire to discuss ways the Hawks can improve.

So, my conclusion?

Butter makes it go down easier, doesn't it?

Fun to watch from the comfy chair here.

Um, they won by 4 touchdowns. Is it EVER good enough? They haven't given up a single touchdown the last 2 weeks🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Totally. Atlanta played great defense on the first half. Hawks completely took over after that. This place always cries about something though.

They completely dominated Atlanta.

I thought that having the 'students of the game ' thread would alleviate some of the back and forth around how a fan should 'fan', but until folks who want to talk more about the xs and os within a given game start posting their thoughts there, it seems any attempt to have such a conversation about it in the general Seahawks thread will devolve into what is happening here.

I don't think there is a single person on this board who isnt thrilled the Hawks are where they are right now or that we have blown out our last 2 opponents.

I would also venture to say that there aren't very many fans who think all is great with the team (our offense) and as good as we have been, that at any given match against a formidable opponent, that things could just go off the rails and all the potential we have with this defense get squandered. I mean, it isnt being a debbie downer about our slow starts, poor finishes and propensity to turn it over in big moments when thise flaws are literally THE asterisk hanging over the team in the national media.

There is nothing wrong with making the observation that how we started on Sunday is not something we can afford to make a habit. In our first loss against the 9ers we scored 10 first half points. We only added 3 after the half. In our loss against the Rams, we scored 9 first half points. Both the Rams and 9ers sport solid offenses and defenses. We face both of those teams again. Against the Vikings, we managed 6 points by the offense before half. It would be one thing if there were unique circumstances that resulted in the lack of points, but it was simply that we had no rhythm, no identity and were playing off of our back foot the entire time. That just cant happen everytime we face a really good defense. I mean, its not like we looked like world beaters against Tennessee either.

So if you wanna just throw logical observation to the wind and ignore the warning signs (the way many did in the leadup to the Rams game) and feel you are the model, level-headed, 'appreciative fan', that's cool. But this team has YET to show it can matchup and beat a solid team that has balance on both sides of the ball. We are 0-3 this year against teams who have won a lot more of their games than they have lost. We have dominated (on offense) either teams who are sub-par, or who might be formidable on one side of the ball, but not the other.

The OP is right. Cant keep happening. I for one want to CONTINUE to enjoy the season for as long as possible and not just blissfully think everything is cool because the W-L record says so or because we got a fat Point Diff off of lesser opponents. It would be great to see us look like a championship team for 4 qtrs. I would much rather have that and win by 7 than look like an imposter for half a game but then win by 30. You cant take quarters off come playoff time and no playoff caliber team is going to give you the ball 4 times in a half so that you can run up the score or get back into a game.
