This can help baseball.... this and last year... is stupid to me..... Dodgers arent making profit over 10 years based on extended payouts.... they just want to win now? That seems odd from a business standpoint.... Detroit got fleeced.... those prospects are buns... wtf is going on with the MLB...

Maybe I’m in the minority but I just don’t enjoy the sport that much anymore.
Dodgers are going to win it all again. Yawn. The salary cap and teams not spending enough are definitely problems.
Maybe the M’s have gotten to me, but it’s just not an enjoyable product. Most guys now struggle to hit above .250. Low .200’s is an acceptable batting average. The three true outcomes is just boring.
Baseball just doesn’t have the star appeal that I enjoy. We’ve been trying to push Julio for years and he’s been pretty disappointing since his rookie season. Too many one hit wonders like Cal. Outside of Ohtani, most people don’t even know the best players in baseball.
Okay end of rant. I’m pretty sure the M’s have just ruined baseball for me.

The Dodgers are the example of why there needs to be a cap period.
I agree with the rest of your post, it's like the NBA to a point for me,
on stars and quality of play.
I can see the day coming to where I just totally quit and only follow NFL.

I'm all about the salary cap. There is a reason why all other sports have it. We will continue to see the powerhouse teams win and always get the high profile players, while the Rays, A's, Reds, etc continue to hope to get players stay or have stud players come up through their farm system. It's out of control and like Hawk-Lock said, I too have lost interest in MLB. It's actually on all pro sports to me because there is no more loyalty to teams anymore like it used to be. Now it's all about the $

I am in agreement. Huge baseball fan, followed religiously. Played high level through college up until about 2003. The Mariners have ruined my love. I still get excited in the offseason and trade deadline but the game has passed me by mostly. I’ve maybe watched a total of 1 game this year. Didn’t even look at fantasy baseball which I love to play. The Dodgers are just buying a top team and no end in sight. If it was a 1 game series anything can happen but in a best of 5 or 7 series no one can compete. Baseball won’t do a cap because they let it get out of control. It desperately needs to be looked at though.

From a gameplay perspective, it's never been better. The pitch clock and challenge system made the game more fast-paced and technical. In person, the Mariners stadium entertainment team does an excellent job with the hydroplane races, speed dating, salmon run, hat game, hot dogs from heaven, music trivia, etc.
From a fairness perspective, the league is cooked. There are the haves, the super haves and the have nots. It doesn't feel good knowing that two or three teams have a realistic chance to win the whole thing and half the league has ZERO chance.
At the end of the day, how you feel matters more than anything. After *SBXL I didn't watch the NFL for almost a decade because the game made me feel like the league cheated us out of a title (which they did). The Sonics leaving Seattle made me hate the NBA and I've never watched it again.
The MLB needs a salary cap in order to make people feel good about the game again. Until then, it will lose margin to the other two big leagues
