Bump

Heads up gang.
Original start date of 8/11 was changed.
Hard Knocks Seahawks training camp edition starts today 8/4.
I forgot to thank you for the heads up on this.
I just happened to come here to browse when I saw this & quickly went on my HBO to see if I had missed it but only missed the first 5 minutes.
Enjoyed the episode.

Others have similar thoughts to mine. I loved the first episode. I've never been to training camp, so I appreciated the inside look at what happens on the practice field and inside the facility.

One of my takeaways is the terms "Quarterback Room" and "Running Back Room," etc., refer to actual rooms where these position groups meet and study; I thought they were figurative.

I thought the bald eagles were cool. I liked that the crew included shots of them along with the lake, Blue Angels, and Mount Rainier. These are aspects of the Seahawks training camp that make it unique in the NFL, so why not provide that context? Might even be a good recruiting tool for future free agents.
And on 710 interviews, players are ALWAYS talking about seeing the Bald Eagles. Bald Eagles are.....wait for it.....awesome.

Not sure why it matters that it's not an Osprey. Extra meh.

It was a good watch.

My daughter isn't really into football, but she started and watched and enjoyed it as well. Liked seeing the different personalities and loved the look at the facility and surrounding areas

I really like coach - he's just on it - I thought the message about this being a new team and the players telling him what the team will look like over the next year was great

Surfing youtibe yesterday and saw a hard knocks podcast hosted by Siciliano.

He had Sherm on as his guest. They covered different aspects of the show and Sherm was clear about the team culture not letting this be a distraction.

MM also addressed that concern and called the show "a gift from the gods" for the team b/c of his confidence in the team's maturity. Essentially "we can be who we are" and not have any concerns b/c everyone has bought into the culture and the culture dictates MOB.

For anyone jonesing for more (I wasn't, but still watched and wasn't upset about the time invested), it's a good follow-up to the episode and provides additional insights.

BTW, Siciliano is a massive MM fan and supporter. Said "geniuses" is bantered about in the NFL to describe coaches...but in the case of MM, it's warranted.

Personal side note.
I’m aware that the Eagles have rebounded really well since the days not that long ago, and that they even are a bit of a nuisance in some parts of Alaska.
However where I live on the lake in Texas we have a couple of breeding pairs that return every year, and I get to see them fairly often.
I always feel honored and a bit patriotic when I do see them, and typically it turns out to be a great day (even if it’s coincidental)
It’s not uncommon when the fledglings start becoming strong that we see them dive bombing and playing with each other. I very recently captured these shots right in my own yard.

Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled programming.

And just to keep everything a bit more tidy, I’ve merged all of the “Hard Knocks” threads into this one.

Please remember, GameDay chat will be available to discuss each episode in real time.
