It probably doesn’t. Anyone can look at how these extensions for QBs at 35 years old and how they work out, it’s terrible. It baffles me that the pro Geno crowd doesn’t at least acknowledge this point even if they feel it’s worth the risk. I disagree but I would respect that take for sure x the fact none of these guys ever mention it and ignore it every time it’s brought up to talk about completion %, pressure rate etc just feels off to me.Maybe he wants changes, but can't until things shake out re the money cap. I can't see how paying DK or Geno top dollar for moderate success makes this team better in the future. Geno is old, and DK is going to be old by the time this team has a QB. They can restructure Tyler to save even more money. We need players, and DK and Geno are stop gap players for a team that dreams of a grand future.
At this point Geno is coming back and I’m ok with it as long as it’s a team friendly deal and you don’t bump his pay up into the 40 range. It will get them fired if they do unless they have a 100% buy out after each year. But if you’re going to do that and you don’t think winning a SB THIS YEAR is possible or then why would you sign him? That’s my other point it doesn’t make sense
