Maybe he wants changes, but can't until things shake out re the money cap. I can't see how paying DK or Geno top dollar for moderate success makes this team better in the future. Geno is old, and DK is going to be old by the time this team has a QB. They can restructure Tyler to save even more money. We need players, and DK and Geno are stop gap players for a team that dreams of a grand future.
It probably doesn’t. Anyone can look at how these extensions for QBs at 35 years old and how they work out, it’s terrible. It baffles me that the pro Geno crowd doesn’t at least acknowledge this point even if they feel it’s worth the risk. I disagree but I would respect that take for sure x the fact none of these guys ever mention it and ignore it every time it’s brought up to talk about completion %, pressure rate etc just feels off to me.

At this point Geno is coming back and I’m ok with it as long as it’s a team friendly deal and you don’t bump his pay up into the 40 range. It will get them fired if they do unless they have a 100% buy out after each year. But if you’re going to do that and you don’t think winning a SB THIS YEAR is possible or then why would you sign him? That’s my other point it doesn’t make sense

Very likely we are stuck with him. Don't mind a new deal if it's not too high, and there's outs after each season. Then again, IF Coach Mike does believe in the guy, he'll be back. No matter what any of us think. Moving sideways is what it feels like. I was hoping we would move forward.

We have been moving backwards for a long while now. By staying in place like we have been, you're actually moving backwards because other teams are moving forward. It is the antithesis of competition in my opinion.

I'm wondering if it's just coach speak when Mike says Geno is his guy etc. We've seen this in the NFL several times. This is our guy, we believe in him etc. A few weeks later........traded.

This is a big year for Geno tho. I don’t care about a couple of obscure metrics it was flat out a bad year by 90% if the metrics used to measure guys. But to calm down the pro Geno crowd as they read this it’s possible the OC and Line are mostly at fault. I don’t believe that’s really the case but for sake of argument let’s say it’s true. They fixed the OC who has worked well with multiple QB exactly like Geno. Cousins avg 30+ touchdowns a year, Carr looks good etc. if they can even add one starter on the oline I think one of the other guys will step up at the other guard spot and play better. Geno really should explode this year.

If he doesn’t man you can’t keep blaming everyone but him. Kubiak may not be McVay(or maybe he is?) but he’s a solid proven play caller.

I’m excited either way. If it’s Geno I’m excited to see how he does with a new OC, not being hurt this year and a better line. If it’s a new guy then let’s start the process and developed him.
Your opinion is valid. Of course Geno should play better with a better O line, if that is good enough for the guys writing the checks, all I can do is be hopeful and watch it play out.

Take it with a grain of salt, I'm considered a huge Geno hater lol.

I had to retire from the Geno nicknames because they are "cringe" etc.

The word "hater" is def. cringe too. In a funny way.

What's really going to hurt is if Pete finds a QB for the Raiders before we do...
