If what you say about Geno is true, then i dont know why everyone is so high on our new HC. He is obviously the biggest idiot in the world if he is willing to ride with Geno. Either that, or he is blind to all of the fatal flaws you point out. There are half a dozen qbs in the league who could do better than you describe.Tying peoples feelings for Geno and for RW together in some way only reveals the feelings of the ones who post that not most of the rest of the board.
In the last years of RW he would not run, wouldn’t pass in the middle was selfish and contributed to an offense that made 2/3 of the game completely suck to watch while maybe having an exciting finish. Glad he’s gone. Geno can’t beat anyone good, throws games away in the red zone, doesn’t elevate anyone and if everything else isn’t perfect can’t make a play 98% of the time and will NEVER have post season success. I’ll be glad when he’s gone.
So how are those tied?
You keep making this connection but I'm not sure I see it the same way. He may be forced to roll with Geno because its the best option available(it may not be the best option either, we shall see what they do). So based on your half a dozen comment, you have Geno 7th best in the league? If what you say about Geno is true, then i dont know why everyone is so high on our new HC. I haven’t criticized Mac yet, even once, though I thought we needed info on Howell for the off season that we did not get.If what you say about Geno is true, then i dont know why everyone is so high on our new HC. I said that if what was said were true, there are half a dozen qbs who we could get now that are better - not that he is 7th best - ie we dont have to resign him. Just get ine of at least 6 guys out there right now that dont make bone headed decisions, dont throw redzone picks, etc, etc etc... and we are good to go. Dump Geno and get 'one of them'.You keep making this connection but I'm not sure I see it the same way. These are the comments that are made that Maelstrom and others say never happen. If you have him 7th then you do have him elite or very near elite. That's fine you're entitled to it but so are people who disagree.
Mac isn't blind to the flaws, in fact he's actually said the opposite to what is said in here. He's acknowledged that Geno has to do better with turnovers, he's mentioned that he has to do better in the red zone. If you're going to take his other words at face value then you should take these as well.....he's absolutely putting some of the blame on Geno for this stuff.
I'm not the Geno hater I get painted as. He's fine. I just think we're at a critical time with him because of his age, lack of mobility, the line, the money he wants etc and historically teams that invest in these guys regret it. They just do.
Maelstrom brought up Alex Smith earlier and its fair to do so. But do you know what they did? Instead of just playing it safe with a good QB, and Alex was a lot like Geno, they went out and got Mahomes who a lot of people didn't like at the time. The rest is history.
That is hilarious. How many OCs Geno will get fired? Geno and Caleb Williams, you mean?I haven’t criticized Mac yet, even once, though I thought we needed info on Howell for the off season that we did not get.
Macs smart enough to compliment what he has until he has something else. Doesn’t mean he supports bringing back Geno behind closed doors. We will see.
I wonder how many OCs a lost cause like Geno is going to get fired?
I threw that last line just for you. You’re welcome. That is hilarious. How many OCs Geno will get fired? Geno and Caleb Williams, you mean?
Waldron is stuck back in his passing coordinator role where his lack of a strategic mind cant hurt a team.
Grubb is doing the college thing again.
Dont you think NFL FOs are aware enough to know whether the problem on an offense was the strategy or the qb? Seriously? You think they look at qb play with their fantasy stat spread sheets and a wet thumb in the air?
The reason Mac isnt just giving lip service and is far better than just resigned to keeping Geno is because he understands the game, knows what Geno has had to make due with now across 2 coordinators and is anxious to see what he can do with a balanced attack and competent play caller.
The only place the 'behind closed doors', 'real feelings'... where Mac is just blowing smoke, conspiracy lives is the same place the 'Pete Meddled' one does... fantasy land.
Isnt happening. Never happened.
Ozzy, what does that get us in your opinion post season wise best case scenario? This is a big year for Geno tho. I don’t care about a couple of obscure metrics it was flat out a bad year by 90% if the metrics used to measure guys. But to calm down the pro Geno crowd as they read this it’s possible the OC and Line are mostly at fault. I don’t believe that’s really the case but for sake of argument let’s say it’s true. They fixed the OC who has worked well with multiple QB exactly like Geno. Cousins avg 30+ touchdowns a year, Carr looks good etc. if they can even add one starter on the oline I think one of the other guys will step up at the other guard spot and play better. Geno really should explode this year.
If he doesn’t man you can’t keep blaming everyone but him. Kubiak may not be McVay(or maybe he is?) but he’s a solid proven play caller.
I’m excited either way. If it’s Geno I’m excited to see how he does with a new OC, not being hurt this year and a better line. If it’s a new guy then let’s start the process and developed him.
Yet, Geno had his career season while Waldron was the OC.That is hilarious. How many OCs Geno will get fired? Geno and Caleb Williams, you mean?

Maybe he wants changes, but can't until things shake out re the money cap. I can't see how paying DK or Geno top dollar for moderate success makes this team better in the future. Geno is old, and DK is going to be old by the time this team has a QB. They can restructure Tyler to save even more money. We need players, and DK and Geno are stop gap players for a team that dreams of a grand future. If what you say about Geno is true, then i dont know why everyone is so high on our new HC. ...and if everything else isn’t perfect can’t make a play 98% of the time...
Precisely. While the OCs weren't up to snuff, they could have called the correct play yet the player execution was horrible so the play looks worse. So failed plays are a combination of both. I doubt Grubb was calling plays that forced Geno to throw in triple coverage in the red zone. That was happening way too many times to say it's just the OC. Geno has been horrible in the red zone his entire Seahawk career. Even in 2022 when he had his career year, his red zone numbers weren't good (TD pct) - https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/red-zone-scoring-pct?date=2023-02-13Without a playoff win.
