Just heard it on 710 ESPN. 4 year extension for John Schneider.

Seahawks To Extend GM John Schneider

July 30th, 2025 at 11:20am CST by Sam Robinson
The Seahawks moved John Schneider to the top of their personnel pyramid in 2024, firing Pete Carroll and giving their GM final personnel say. A year later, the team is extending its longtime front office boss.
Schneider and the Seahawks have agreed on a four-year extension, according to FOX’s Jay Glazer. The new deal will push Schneider’s contract through 2030. Schneider has been in place as Seattle GM since 2010. Were he to finish out this contract, the Super Bowl-winning decision-maker would become one of the longest-tenured GMs in NFL history.

This doesn't make a ton of sense, especially if McDonald and/or the O-line struggles this year. Felt this year was a prove it year to get back into the play offs and win a game there.
I can see where you might have that take on the matter but I'm sure there are a lot of politics behind the scenes that we don't know about .
If John Schneider can convince the powers that be Seattle is moving in the right direction,he can secure another 4 years.
If the wheels fall off , he won't make it to the end of the contract.

I, for one, have said I’d like to see good offensive line play to extend John. With that said I still think he’s a strong GM and I’m ok with keeping him around. At least this way I know who to blame the next 5 years if our line doesn’t improve. 😂

I respectfully disagree. When Dotson and Baker weren't working out, he piveted immediately and made the move for EJIV. That shows great communication between the HC and GM. Also, dropping Grubb as OC after 1 season and working with MM to find a run first OC. The days of throwing draft picks at a dart board to make trades during the season appear to be gone. We also took a good OL in the first round in forever. I am thrilled to have him extended.
