He’s the first keg of the defense!
Lol AI selected image?Combined it with this caption…
Oct 27, 2024; Seattle, Washington, USA; Seattle Seahawks punter Michael Dickson (4) celebrates after rushing for a touchdown against the Seattle Seahawks during the fourth quarter at Lumen..
It would have been funnier if it was "after returning a punt for a touchdown"Combined it with this caption…

First sentence though : "3rd down continues to be a problem for Seattle"
Hope that broken record was finally replaced this season.
Keep in mind that the "highest paid punter" is going to get $4 million per year. That's not even 2 percent of the cap. So what if he makes a million more than the average punter? Yes, half the punters in the NFL make less than $2 million, but Dickson gives you 10 yards more per punt than those punters at the bottom.I'm not optimistic about the Seahawks offense on third down in 2025.
Anyway, setting new highs in what specialists like a punter make is why the Seahawks always seem to be running up against the cap in a way the good teams in the division don't, leading the most ignorant among us to affirm that the Seahawks rivals don't have to obey the cap. They do. They just do it better, and not setting new records for punter compensation is part of that.
The cap is very fluid and depends on how far a GM is willing to “kick the can down the road” if I am a team that is in a Superbowl window I would be willing to do what it takes to field the best team possible in the present and worry about tomorrow later which as a GM you might not be with the team at that point.I'm not optimistic about the Seahawks offense on third down in 2025.

From the moment I saw the double punt I said do whatever it takes to keep him a Hawk for his career.Worth every penny. He's been nails for us from day 1.
I am 50/50 on the signing he probably is the best punter in the league but if I am going to sign a kicker to a high end contract for his position it would be for a top PK who can win you games, a punter is easily replaced with a UDFA or late rd draft pick. I guess though in todays NFL $4 million per year isn’t what it used to be. Mcdonald probably sees Dickson has an important part of his defense
And I bet most NFL teams with punters who they are paying $2 million less than him, would gladly fork out $500k each for just four Dickson-like punts in critical situations.Keep in mind that the "highest paid punter" is going to get $4 million per year. Good teams have the special teams figured out. Not paying kickers and punters will come back to bite you in the end.
