Is anyone fed up with this "once they get Percy Harvin back"
Coming "back" to what? The only Harvin we know is the one that played for the Vikings. he hasn't played for Seattle yet, and we don't know what he is going to bring, or how he will fit into the system. Okung and Breno, we know what they bring. We don't know anything about this guy other than
1) what he did in Minnesota
2) He is hurt, and probably more than we think.
3) We don't have a clue how he will fit with this offense or if he will be a cancer like he was in Minny
4) THE MEDIA IS MAKING HIM OUT TO BE THE SAVIOR AND ANSWER AND FINAL PIECE OF THE PUZZLE and this is while taking points 1,2, and 3 into consideration
I work for a lawyer, so Im used to being meticulous with words, and bringing him "back" to me seems like an oxymoron.
HE HASNT PLAYED HERE YET!!!!!!
I don't know, maybe its just me, but its very irritating.
1. Harvin made the Pro Bowl in 2009 with Minnesota in a system run by... you guessed it... Darrell Bevell.
2. How is he "probably hurt more than we think"? Explain. If you work for a lawyer, shouldn't you avoid things like conjecture?
3. We should have a clue how he'll fit in this offense by looking at how Bevell has used him before and determining whether that approach seems like on this team. As for his carcinogenic qualities in Minnesota, have we heard anything about him having any issues with Seattle's FO or coaching staff? We know that the Vikings players had zero problems with Harvin, and that the speculation was that Harvin's issues were either contract-related or connected to Leslie Frazier and Brad Childress.
4. The media I have seen indicates that a guy who was performing very well last season before his injury is about to become available to a team with a glaring need at the position he plays. Why on earth wouldn't that be viewed as a potential positive?
Maybe it's just me, but I think you probably found the Harvin trade itself very irritating. It sounds like you've already got some built-in bias against him.
on your points
1) Different team, different system, not the same. Yes its Bevell, but if everything was the same as it was then, then he would become very predictable. Seattle didn't get to playoffs last year because offense was predictable.
Pro bowl in 2009? Shaun Alexander was MVP of the league in 05' and was out of league two years later. Injuries change everything. Nothing is guaranteed.
2) Its not conjecture. Adam Schefter said he knows for a fact that he further away than everyone makes it out to be.
4) I never said it wasn't a positive, im saying that when morons like Pete Prisco on cbs say they need him badly seems to forget that this team went 11-5 last year without him. That's what I mean
Didn't find trade irritating. I liked it then and liked it now, Im just not sold that everything will come up roses just because he is on the field. Return of M-Rob may turn out to be even more important because it assists in something that is KNOWN , IE the running game, vs something unknown, IE how well he can come back from injury.
