What would it take: Burrow or Lawrence

Is there any way we could land either of these cats in a trade? I am so done with Geno. I cannot stomach thought of seeing him even one more year in Seattle. There are no quarterbacks in this draft (at least not where we're picking). Cincy is probably going to lose more players and are notoriously cheap. Do they try to start over with a boatload of picks? Burrow has got to want out of there. Lawrence would be a nice consolation prize. Another dumpster fire organization wasting a talented QB. John (assuming he is still around) needs to swing for the fences with the quarterback position. Otherwise, we will remain in purgatory.

I'd take Lawrence. He hasn't done well in Jacksonville, but I think he's one of those players that could do well with a change in scenery.

Edited to say, of course I'd take Burrow, but there is no way Cincy let's him go without anything less than a kings ransom.

Burrow is a pipe dream. I can't even imagine what it would cost, or that Cincy would ever even consider the idea of trading him. Lawrence...sure, I'd take him, all the money issues to the side for a moment. I don't see Jacksonville giving up on him yet, though.

This. There's absolutely no way the Bengals would even entertain the idea of trading away Burrow. Might as well try to get Josh Allen or Mahomes while we're at it. There's just no way, no matter the compensation offered.

No idea what it would take to get Lawrence, if Jax would even be willing to trade him, but that contract and whatever we'd have to give up to get him would make it incredibly difficult to build a decent team around him.

If DeShaun Watson cost Cleveland three number ones, how much would Burrow cost???! If we are pipe dreaming, what’s wrong with Mahomes? Got just as much of a chance to get him as Burrow. Just because you want a top notch franchise QB doesn’t mean you can easily go out and acquire one. I’m on my way to Home Depot, want me to pick up a franchise QB while I’m there or do you just want to order one on Amazon?

Is this a joke? We could seriously offer three first-round picks, two second-round picks, Witherspoon, Cross, and Ernest Jones for Burrow and we'd probably get turned down.

Desperation does funny things to people. Even if it’s faux desperation.

Let’s trade away what has been built so far for a middle age (for the NfL) QB.

If Baltimore can win a Super Bowl with Trent dilfer I’m fine with focusing on the defense for another year

I was watching Hawks Nest with Brandon Cain last night. He seems to think that a trade for Lawrence isn't out of the realm of possibility. I just wanted to see what other 12s thought about this.

John should work a lower level trade for someone like Jake Browner and identify a QB prospect in the draft with potential.
Then let those two & Howell compete for the starting spot, maybe bring a cheap vet in on a 1 year deal if only one of the young guys looks legit.
We will be making some deep cuts to get out of the red & make an offseason possible. Fix the offensive line and spend some $ and draft capital to do it.
Add what Serviceable WR's & TE we can without breaking the Bank.
Add what we can to the defense.
Draft the best QB we can afford in 26' to put behind an improved O-line, solid run game and hopefully have a top 5 defense.

That's such an extreme example though. How many 2000 Ravens defenses are there? As difficult as finding a franchise QB is, it's much easier than recreating what they had.

Times change. Dilfer wouldn't win today with the current offenses and rules.

Great Idea!
Get Jake Browner and Joe Milton at low cost(s)
They are young, healthy and hungry.. Trade Sammy out.

Where is this Lawrence love coming from?
If you thought I was bad with Me3 - I'm really going to be with him.
I hate this is even being willed here, I think I smell weed!
I don't really get it either. I understand that he's a talented QB and it could be argued that he's being wasted on an awful team, but he's getting paid elite money and hasn't really shown the drive to be great. If this was a value thing, I could see it. It's different if we have to trade significant capital for him (I imagine it'd be at least a first-round pick, plus more) and then have to pay out that contract. That means we have fewer draft picks and less cap space to build around him.
