Is anyone fed up with this "once they get Percy Harvin back"

Coming "back" to what? The only Harvin we know is the one that played for the Vikings. he hasn't played for Seattle yet, and we don't know what he is going to bring, or how he will fit into the system. Okung and Breno, we know what they bring. We don't know anything about this guy other than

1) what he did in Minnesota
2) He is hurt, and probably more than we think.
3) We don't have a clue how he will fit with this offense or if he will be a cancer like he was in Minny
4) THE MEDIA IS MAKING HIM OUT TO BE THE SAVIOR AND ANSWER AND FINAL PIECE OF THE PUZZLE and this is while taking points 1,2, and 3 into consideration

if they dropped the "back" would that make you feel better?

and really your points 3 and 4 are quite ridiculous.... point 2 is speculation at best

Yea its kind of a misnomer, except that he is indeed coming back from an injury. But he's an unknown. New team, new QB, post-injury...no one knows what he will do for the Seahawks.

Points 3 and 4 are ridiculous? How many snaps has he taken as a Seahawk? How do you know how well he will fit in?

What a speculating speculator that is hypocritical about being hypocritical!

Because every week we get "he may play this week" up until Thursday before the game. Well this will be third straight week we have to listen that, so the NFL is obviously playing it up as a sideshow only to tell us he really isn't ready.

It isn't annoying but more likely just a tad optimistic. He is a talent, the likes the Seahawks aren't used to drafting (bless our lucky stars the Bills couldn't work it out with Lynch). I suspect there will be some rust and the usually more frustrating "Getting on the same page with the QB" thing that happens between WRs and QBs.

Not playing for close to a year, there is just the getting use to the pounding and not pulling something due to moves you haven't done in awhile. His return could lead to an explosion of big plays or it could be a weekly nursing of bumps, bruises and adjustments. I get the feeling many pundits are thinking it will be like flipping a switch. They also probably have their "What's wrong with Harvin and the Seahawks offense?" articles written and raring to go.

No, you have to listen to Carroll and understand the nature of Harvin's injury.

Harvin's hip isn't the problem; it is that, as he hasn't been at full speed for a few months, he might injure himself in a way unrelated to the hip due to rust - maybe a pulled hammy or calf, for example.

This is also why his hip flares up - the muscles haven't been used for awhile, so when he pushes himself too hard, his body sends him some soreness to remind him to slow down.

Therefore, when Carroll says that he's "almost" ready, he means that in terms of conditioning and getting those leg muscles back up to speed since they haven't been used, not that he's still hurt in terms of the hip (or anything else).

Talking about adding of the best players in football to an already good team??? Yeah, not sure how that can be considered annoying.

I don't know, maybe its just me, but its very irritating.

1. Harvin made the Pro Bowl in 2009 with Minnesota in a system run by... you guessed it... Darrell Bevell.

2. How is he "probably hurt more than we think"? Explain. If you work for a lawyer, shouldn't you avoid things like conjecture?

3. We should have a clue how he'll fit in this offense by looking at how Bevell has used him before and determining whether that approach seems like on this team. As for his carcinogenic qualities in Minnesota, have we heard anything about him having any issues with Seattle's FO or coaching staff? We know that the Vikings players had zero problems with Harvin, and that the speculation was that Harvin's issues were either contract-related or connected to Leslie Frazier and Brad Childress.

4. The media I have seen indicates that a guy who was performing very well last season before his injury is about to become available to a team with a glaring need at the position he plays. Why on earth wouldn't that be viewed as a potential positive?

Maybe it's just me, but I think you probably found the Harvin trade itself very irritating. It sounds like you've already got some built-in bias against him.

Yeah, we don't know what he'll do for us, but it doesn't mean we can't be excited for what he may do, especially considering what he actually has done in MIN. He probably won't be a savior, but I'm willing to bet he'll help contribute positively on the field rather than not. I'm confident in PC&JS's ability to scour talent and with as big as an investment that they made for Harvin, I'm sure they took the appropriate steps to make sure that he won't be the problem.

Btw, we all know Wilson is the actual savior.

One area where we could definitely use his help and an area where you can expect him to be dynamic in any uniform is in the kick-return game. I really hope that Golden's stellar performance as a punt returner has opened some people's eyes to what a boost a dynamic returner can be. You can't be afraid to put good players back there if they bring something special like Golden/Percy. Those guys can change the game on one play.

I am looking for news, so I am not annoyed at all. Just a little disappointed that he was injured before we even had a chance to use him so far.

Really looking forward to getting him out there.

The only way to avoid it is to avoid logging on. :229031_shrug:

The part I don't like, I guess, is all the doom and gloomers saying "we need this" or "we need him to do this" all the time. Whatever. I'll be glad to see what he can bring to our offense, but at 8-1, I don't think we need a savior.

;)

I've been follow the Vikings for years and would love to know when he was a cancer in the locker room. Hahaha.

I just don't understand how someone that was going to be an MVP keeps getting brought up, like it's some kind of big deal...or that he could make any difference at all on the field. Something doesn't add up...

Sounds like OP is pissed at semantics more than anything.
