Not too many superstar receivers on this list of Super Bowl winners and this list doesn’t have last years chiefs. I ain’t saying trade dk no not ever, just that massive receiving yards is not the greatest indicator of overall success
I dont see evidence thatbyou dont need great wr's in that list. I see more validation that you need balance and cant be a one man show.
Hill, Edelman and Boldin account for more than half of the sub 1000 yard years, and each is a wr worthy of double teams and requires scheming for... like DK.
As much as i love our WRs, absent DK, i dont think most teams look at a lineup of a past his prime Tyler, JSN and Bobo and are overly concerned about drawing up special coverage schemes. They are all great, but as a group do too much of the same thing.
If i am Buffalo this week and play us without DK, im locking up man coverage more often than not, letting the CBs turn their backs to the line and daring Geno to either throw the ball into a tight window, or make him beat us with his legs. Our wrs are not going to get separation for long coming off the line and will be hard pressed to beat guys with speed deep...
Unless this is the week we discover a new weapon...
It could be Dareke Young time. I've heard about how physically gifted he is since he's been here. He has just been dinged up.
He ran a 4.4 40 yard dash, Dk ran a 4.33. .07 seconds is the swing of an arm at the line.
He was significantly quicker than DK in the cone drill 6.88 v 7.38 and 20 yd shuttle 4.19 v 4.5. Thats big
DK put up 24 reps at 225lbs, Dareke put up 22. Thats a wash.
Folks, on paper, Dareke is every bit a match for DK athletically. He may not be the imposing physical freak but he is quicker, almost as fast, and nearly as strong at the bench.
His coach seems to be impressed:
Coming off an injury-marred season, Dareke Young has bounced back in his third NFL training camp with the Seahawks, positioning himself to maintain a roster spo

I think its been hard for him to see the field this year because to put him on, you are pulling DK, Tyler or JSN. And their proven experience in the offense likely trumps the potential he might bring.
I havent seen his snap counts and who he has subbed for but the dude only has 1 target this year and i think zero catches. If he's going to be a contributor on the offense moving forward, this is the week to show it if DK cant go.
