No he didn't "Snap".

I was bored so I counted 15 snaps of his in this vid and did my own short un-informed review on each snap so here we go :

Play 1 : No separation (Sam got hit almost immediately)
Play 2: Sam could've thrown it deep to Horton here but went to JSN
Play 3: He was covered by 2 defenders
Play 4: Was defended well (Lucas' man beat him so Darnold had to throw it fast)
Play 5: Was wide open for a checkdown; Sam went with the bigger play to JSN
Play 6: He was again near two defenders (and did not seem to break free of his man)
Play 7: Same as Play 6, though I wonder if that defender was holding onto him there
Play 8: Again...NO SEPARATION
Play 9: Not much happening here
Play 10: Not much happening here with the Niners playing zone
Play 11: They could've tried something deep here, I suppose
Play 12: Another place they could've tried something to Tory
Play 13: Wasn't even looking for the ball
Play 14: Went to JSN (rightly so) in crunch time, though he could've had Tory as well
Play 15: Not a clean look by Horton

5 plays out of the 15 snaps Horton got in the vid where he could've been thrown the ball.

The rest of the time, he either wasn't looking for the ball or just wasn't getting any separation.

Of course...to be fair, perhaps they were just using him to open things up underneath as a decoy?

Regardless, I think he'll get far more involved in this offense as the season goes along.

He'll get targets and once he gets going, it will be glorious.

It's a lot harder to get separation in the NFL than in the Mountain West Conference. He's got a lot to learn I would think.

Horton has the potential to be a low end 2 but right now the Seahawks are in dire straits at WR so they need to increase Horton's snaps and see what they have in him.

Historically, WR has been a difficult position for a player to come in as a rookie and perform well. It happens, but it just seems like the learning curve is pretty steep. Playing time is the best way to get experience, so might as well try to really see what we have in him.

His first ever game in the NFL. Give the dude a chance. Gnome sayin?
I did say I was bored.

I know it was his first NFL game. (plus I did, and I bolded it, say that he was probably used more as a decoy to open things up)

He'll get better, no doubt. 💪

Horton just needs more opportunities! Here a tale of two WRs, we drafted Horton, a WR with unlimited upside in 5th round 166 pick. Ole Pete drafted Thornton in 4th round 108th pick. Thorton has been getting all kinds of opportunities and has even produced some.

Horton deserves more snaps and targets.

Exactly. Remember golden Tate? Took him a couple years before he started getting yards. And he was a second rounder. From a major school.

Pete is not making the picks; He's just a head coach only.
