I heard that the front office/ownership were working on a plan to keep him. That might contain some financial adjustments. :)
And that's why you do the interviews

The Raiders and Cardinals jobs are the worst in the NFL. There's a reason both are still vacant -- no one wants to coach under those conditions. KK would be nuts to take one of those. My guess is he stays put for another season, and waits for the right opportunity next year.

Cards yeah, but the chance to connect yourself to Mendoza has to be intriguing. That's a much better job than the Browns or Jets.

I don't know Kubiak in the least, but I can't believe he'd go to the Cards, a dysfunctional franchise in the same division as the Hawks and having to compete against MM, McVay, and Shanahan. Why would you do that to yourself?

The Raiders job actually has some desirables to it. You get a potential franchise QB in the draft, have good draft capital, lots of CAP space, and perhaps more of both forthcoming, and you're starting out at the bottom where the bar for improvement is set at about the lowest level it could be. Putting all the other stuff aside, that's not a bad situation to walk into.

Kubiak will get more opps next year. But is he willing to wait? Raiders will throw a LARGE sized bag at him.

I thought there would be no chance because of the 2 week window but I could be wrong. I hope he stays another year but wouldn't blame him at all if he bounces.

All of the above, plus - we've been analyzing his options using our logic, but Kubiak might be thinking that he's ready and that he can turn around the Raiders. It's really his own analysis of himself that counts here.

Having had Brady watch him as a commentator is one thing, but he was looking at him as a Coach and Owner two games against the best in the league, and no Pats you are not in the same class as the Rams and 49ers on either side of the ball I would have to wonder how much they will throw at him. The key aspect I think is how much control and what decisions he will be able to make. He has been around, he knows good policy and bad. These two Franchises hold their cards close and want to have less Coach input then others.

Would he want Brady to basically be over his shoulder micro-analyzing his decisions, though?

It's a mixed bag. Coaching Mendoza would be great, but they have an awful O-line that is in dire need of upgrade. Aside from Bowers and Crosby, the Raiders largely have to be re-built from scratch -- which might be intriguing, but is filled with challenges too. But throw in having to work for Mark Davis and Tom Brady, as well as the Raiders having burned through five head coaches in the past sox years, and you have an organization in dissaray. So lots of potential, but lots of land mines too.

Depends how much money they give him. It looks like the Raiders are all in for him. I think if they wanted Denver’s coach they’d have offered him the job by now.
