So only three openings left….Cardinals, raiders and browns. Do you think he leaves for any of these three. I hope he stays and continues to build on this year. The choices of the three are the bottom of the barrel organizations.
I’d wait, none of those jobs seem like they’re set up for success for a first time head coach.

The only reason he leaves is if they offer STUPID money that he can't refuse.

Otherwise, I just don't see him wanting to go to any of those organizations.

I mean....the raiders are the "best of the rest" in terms of having young talent (Jeanty/Bowers) but that team needs to draft a QB and he'll be on the hot seat from the get-go to get that team into playoff contention from day one.

Why leave a potential long-term SuperBowl team as the OC for uncertainty as a HC elsewhere?

I know these HC come sometimes far and few in between opportunities and I’m sure he is eyeing one but if he does go, I hope Mac and possibly Schneider, know exactly who is in like to be a great OC next. Darnold, we have our present and future Super Bowl QB, we just need to keep consistent high quality coaching supporting Sam’s talents. JSN, is also a superstar that needs consistent high quality coordinators able to fully utilize JSNs talents.

I have a feeling, The Raiders and the Cards, want Kubiak.
I'm not so sure they are that rare. Sure there are only 32 positions, but it seems like there are 6-8 jobs/year opening up lately.

'Kube's a 12. The rest of the league is jealous of what is going on in Seattle. Jodi is going to offer him a big bag.

I don't think he's going anywhere.

Next year could be the Eagles, Cowboys, Packers. Another good OC year and Kubiak picks his job.
Exactly.

I think Kubes either punts on this year and sticks around for one more here OR Jodie gives him an offer he can't refuse.

And that is why they are few every season. And candidates usually get the most looks the year the coaches perform well on a good team. Not every year coordinators will get the same looks from franchises looking for new coaches. The interviews can come hot and then run cold forever. This is what usually scares people into taking what they can get at that time. I for one, hope Kubrick stays, and if he does leave, well, I would hope he goes to a good organization. At the end, coordinators come and go, a lot, and you just gotta keep adapting and developing coordinators.

Like Gruden money? Would the Raiders go there?

I personally don't get why an OC would want to go to a crap organization and potentially destroy his reputation doing something he might not be cut out for if he could make really good money doing what he knows he is good at.
Chip Kelly got $6mil for a year of work from the Raiders. The Google seems to think Kubs might be pulling in 2.5mill with the Hawks right now. Double his money to make him happy and keep him around at that rate or maybe more for the duration of the dynasty and he can then be in the driver's seat for whatever gig he wants (that's available) in the future.

I get that there is a risk that his stock goes down next year if we don't 'repeat' or if for some reason we fall flat and that maybe falling flat with 20 mill in your pocket for the year is better than falling flat with 5 mill 'OC' money, but if you REALLY want to be a HC, why risk doing it for the long term in the right situation if you fail the first time because you gook cash over quality?

I really want to think this - but if he wasn't considering a HC job - wouldn't he have said so already??

I don't think it's just his wife that might encourage him to take the pay increase of a head coach. It's the coaches that would move with him and presumably get promotions/pay increases as well.

I'm not saying he's out the door, just that there are factors that those of us who haven't had a prospective millions of dollars salary might not think about. :)

Same source linked above saying he was close to removing Kubiak as a likely candidate. Less than 48 hours later. LOL

These guys don't know anything.
