Unless Shanny completely out-schemes MM, we should be fine and even win going away. If we slow down their offense, our O should be able to score enough to get and stay ahead.

After rewatching the first game and seeing how flustered Purdy was... I'm not so concerned. It was Sam's first game, kubiak's first time coordinating this O and our offenses first time against live rounds. We lost on two bad plays by Woolen, that had either been picked (both should have been), we likely close the game out with a win.

Yeah, that was a long time ago, but their D has gotten considerably worse. You can argue their offense has improved, but so has our defense.

Purdy is their Wizard of Oz. Their chances start and stop with him, and his last game was basically a 7v7 outing against a terrible defense. Force him into even an off night and we win comfortably.

After watching the Niners Bears game closely I feel fine. The Hawks are a better TEAM overall. They are great on the road, and are taking this game very seriously. I am reminded of all the folks that picked Denver in SB 48 cause their offense was sooooooo unstoppable. Give me the best defense in these games all day every day and our run game is improving at the right time. I feel pretty calm about today. I think we win this one personally. Purdue’s record and stats against Mike Mac’s defenses is not great. If that continues Hawks are sitting pretty.
I concur

I only have positive things to say on this forum.

Seattle will win if they play well, which they will! Go Seahawks!

I saw an older lady at Fred Meyer today. She was wearing a 9ers shirt. She told the checkout lady she was "very nervous for the game." I looked at her (wearing my Seahawks gear) and said "You should be." We all laughed. I was just teasing harmlessly. I then told her "We're nervous too."

The bagging lady walked over to me and said "You're being too kind!" LOL, obviously a fellow 12.

I'm in the 50 Year Club with ya Lon. There's a damn good reason I am turning my phone off for the entire game and not checking the score until after the game is over. I just don't need that kind of stress and I truly believe if I had to sit through Purdy doing that godforsakin' dumb dance I might throw something at my TV. And I love my TV.

I'm cautiously optimistic that we will win, but I'll save myself 3 hours of dangerous blood pressure thank you very much.

Are you saying that the Niners have had more qb sacks than they’ve allowed their qb to be sacked?

If so that’s just not true. I checked several reputable sites including the 49ers own site and they have allowed 24 sacks. 16 on Jones and 8 on Purdy. They only have 18 total sacks defensively.
Sorry. My bad.

I know you have to do you but just be ready to see that big win when you do look and know without the risk of the lows the highs just aren’t the same.

I gotta ask this though. When we are back in Santa Clara for LX will you not be watching the big game live?

I agree that the field at Levi's isn't "trash", but there's no evidence saying that it's one of the best surfaces in the league.

In fact, they are planning on replacing the field with new sod sometime in the next few weeks in preparation for the Super Bowl:

Pappas also shared plans for the Super Bowl to be held on Feb. 8 at the San Francisco 49ers' home at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The field has been growing at a sod farm about two hours east of the Bay Area, with Pappas making several visits over the past 18 months to monitor the field.
The league will plan to install the field around the third week in January -- or later if the 49ers could be hosting playoff games.

They must have at least some doubt about the current playing surface or else they wouldn't have been planning on replacing it.

The weather forecast calls for light rain, temps in the high 50's, light winds. I'm sure the current field can handle the relatively small amount of precipitation called for tonight. I don't expect weather to be a factor.
It’s pretty common for nfl teams with sod fields to switch them out several times per year. They will want everything perfect for the Super Bowl

And I suspect that the 9ers will gladly take advantage of the field conditions hoping to catch the Seahawks off guard.

At this stage EVERY advantage matters.

I don’t blame them, just stating my opinion of the situation.

Several times a year? I don't think so.

NFL teams typically replace grass fields with new turf approximately every 8 to 12 years. This timeframe is influenced by factors such as the wear and tear of the fibers, UV exposure, and infill movement. The replacement schedule can vary depending on the frequency of use and the condition of the stone base. For instance, a high school football field program playing once a week may experience more wear than a campus with multiple sports teams. Additionally, fields near tree lines or dusty areas may age differently due to fines that compact the infill, accelerating wear on the fibers.

But I don't anticipate that the weather or the field will be a major factor, at least not as much as what we're seeing with the Panthers-Bucs game.

My worry is the Darnold factor and not turning over the ball. Hero ball is not his strength and if he can just manage the game and make good to average plays along with our defense doing what they do..we should be all right

I’ll watch the Super Bowl live. I did in XLVIII and XLIX so I will honor that tradition if we make it back to Santa Clara in February.

Your quote is for artificial turf . Most sod is replaced several times per year , depending on other events

Well the stress is part of the fun, getting thru it with a win, or being able to curse and swear in a loss makes the next meeting more antagonistic against the team.

If I die watching a Seahawks game at least it will be doing something I enjoy. Can't ask for more then that, better then laying in a bed pissing or shitting myself wondering how I got to that point.
