Percy has got to be DYING to put on pads and suit up. I say get him in AS SOON AS HE'S READY, and have him full go before we get back to the CLink. He need to be a full participant by the time he gets 'home'.

Maybe he is. But I wouldn't make that assumption. When he first had his hip examined, he had a professional opinion that had he taken it, would have allowed him to play, but he chose to go get a second opinion which recommended surgery and 8 weeks off and he chose to accept it and went against our team's medical staff. There is the possibility that his heart isn't in the game. Only time will tell.

I don't think there is a player in football that would choose to have hip surgery over playing football. Lol Having read extensively about the injury, he made the right decision.

Dumbest post I've read since the last time you posted the same stupid shit.

No worries, Im a HUGE Seahawks fan....just not a fan of the attitude this forum portrays. Its incredibly disappointing. Wish I hadn't found it and question why I bother posting. The only threads I really enjoy are when people post links to articles on the hawks or youtube clips on things.

Considering that a significant amount your posts are about how Seattle/Seahawks fans aren't good fans I'd have to say you're not helping.

Harvin was arrested for suspicion of DUI this spring. That is a fact. Harvin has had problems with the last two head coaches he played for. That is a fact. Harvin discarded medical advice that would have had him playing in the first half of the season. That is a fact.

You, me, or anyone else can put our own spins on those facts, use our own adjectives to describe them, come up with various explanations for them, over state them, or ignore them, but they are facts.

He was wrongly detained and released, a drug evaluation expert concluded that he was not under the influence. Nothing to see here.

How was he wrongly detained?

Does that really need to be spelled out for you? Read the portion after the red. Comma's mean pause....not stop reading.

Harvin was not "wrongly detained". The police have the right to detain any one of us at any time so long as they have a reasonable cause. Percy was detained for illegally tinted windows and a license plate violation. Admittedly that's pretty lame, but still legal and very much within the law. His subsequent arrest may be questionable as it involved a judgement decision by the cop, but I have no reason to question their actions. If they have the slighest doubt about the road worthiness of a driver, they are legally and morally obligated to haul them in. Failure to do so could cost them their jobs. The fact that there was not enough evidence to charge Harvin with DUI does not mean the cop was in the wrong for detaining and/or arresting him.

I understand that it's just a matter of semantics and I don't mean to give you a hard time about it, but the reason I brought it up is that some people have the tendoncy to select their wording so as to make an incident seem more trivial than it was. This incident was very discomforting to me as it indicated that Harvin's judgement is very suspect. Even if he wasn't smoking it, he should have never let the stuff within a country mile of his car knowing what the possible reprecussions were.

A source tells NFL Network that Percy Harvin (hip) will resume practicing next week.
Since the Seahawks play the Thursday night game this week and the Monday nighter in Week 8, they'll have a ton of down time. It provides an excellent window for Harvin to test out his surgically-repaired hip and start working his way back into football shape. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, he should play in games "sooner rather than later." This report comes on the heels of whispers that Harvin is well ahead of schedule and extremely optimistic quotes from coach Pete Carroll. It sounds like Harvin is a good bet to play before the Week 12 bye, making him a must-own in all formats. If truly healthy, there isn't a more dangerous player with the ball in his hands in the entire league.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll told reporters late Sunday that Percy Harvin's (hip) return is "just around the corner."
This doesn't really help us to determine a targeted timetable, but it's time to grab Harvin off waivers if he's still unowned in your league. Carroll's optimistic words come just days after he tried throwing cold water on Harvin's public goal of returning in Week 7. Harvin can be activated off the PUP list on Monday. Once he's activated to the 53-man roster, he'll likely need at least one week to get back near football shape. He has a chance to be a WR2/3 fantasy asset down the stretch.

In PC speak this means week 8 on MNF against the Rams.

Every single player coming off significant injury has been through 2-3 weeks of full practice before playing in an actual game for Seattle. I don't see that changing for Harvin. I'd bet money that he does NOT play in the MNF game at St. Louis.

Ian Rapoport speculating on Twitter isn't exactly a concrete timeline, so I'd take the "Hawks" out of your sentence. No one from the Hawks said this, or would say this now.

Until you hear Pete say it the Wednesday before whatever game it is, then it's all just noise.

That's absolutely true. If there's three people that can dazzle you with B.S., it's politicians, lawyers, and head football coaches.

idk, I think Pete's one of the more honest coaches out there when it comes to stuff like injuries. He's upfront on always erring on the side of caution when it comes to bringing his players back from injury.

He's certainly no Belicheat who lists all 52 of his players on the injury report every week just to F with the other team and be a jackass.

Maybe to you. I listen to guys in the know like Rapoport. Enjoy waiting for Pete to confirm this. You likely won't know till MNF next week if thats what you are waiting for. :177692:

I think they wait until after the bye if they can. I doubt MNF just for the fact he hasn't even practiced yet. It doesn't add up when seeing how Carroll has done with other guys.

If he has a full week of practice next week without set backs then he will play on the Monday night game.

It's exactly how Carroll has done with other guys.

I think Carroll looks at them all on a case by case basis. If Harvin is ready he will play. He won't just sit him to sit him. :les:

Rapoport is already back-tracking.

Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet 10m
Talked Percy Harvin on TA Kickoff & his Oct. 28 target date. @MikeSilver warns Seahawks want to be MUCH more cautious with their investment
