He's a very versatile coach and def. can adjust on the fly. Saw it first-hand every game. I won't be surprised at all if we run the crap out of the ball. But you can expect more vertical game from him. Also, a LOT of movement, which confuses defenses.
He also had the best O Line in the country at UW.

I feel like this is the exact same discussion had on this forum about Grubb both at UW and right after we hired him for the Seahawks.

That's a double-negative. So what you're saying is, he CAN get love from you?
Grubb has an interesting bio. He was a four year starter in a lower division college as a RB and WR. He got a Masters Degree in sports administration. He won two division two championships as an offensive coordinator, and got to the NCAA championship game as UW's offensive coordinator. And, interestingly enough, while at Sioux Falls he was also named the National Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year.
He's been a steady riser throughout his career, and has been successful at every level. At the very least, I think the guy deserves a chance, and a withholding of judgment until he's been given a fair amount of time to prove himself at this level.

I have high hopes for him. My guess is we get him for 3 years tops before he gets poached. It may be sooner.

Weird. I don't recall seeing any Ohio State coaches in the national championship game. I do recall seeing Grubb on the sideline though.

Thank you! I was going to lose my mind if nobody picked up on that soon lol. I've been holding on to that lame joke since the days of Greg Scruggs (whose name has much better cadence for it), but I never remembered it during any of the very few instances in his tenure where his name could have come up organically.
I like a good swing for the fences, so I was fine with Grubb. Some of our recent OC hires have been so uninspiring. I figure, with the talent this team has at the skill positions, it'll be hard to even tell if he's incompetent anyway. Like you said, he'll probably get plucked in two years by someone praying to King Jeebus that they're getting McVay or Shanahan rather than someone like Nate Hackett or Adam Gase whose teams were apparently succeeding in spite of them.
I think it's more likely that we're saying B.G.'s so high above me, like Cleopatra, Joan of Arc, and Aphrodite.

We do pretty good considering our recruiting disadvantages. You can only do so much. You guys can sell a 5-star on Puget Sound and temperate winters. In Central Ohio, we're just telling people not to eat those nuts that grow on some of the trees. We would kill for a Jake Eason or a Jalen McMillan just once, rather than crossing our fingers that the scrappy white 5'10" graduate transfer from Youngstown State can hold his own against FBS competition.
On paper the Hawks are gifted with amazing athletes at RB, TE and WR. So Grubbs can mix it up on how he wants really. I think the interior OL upgrades might be enough to really allow the team to do anything they want on offense.
Barner and Brown are sneaky good moving in space downfield while we know Fant can move.
The WR room is easily one of the deepest in the NFC and maybe even in the NFl.
And the RB room is underrated I feel mostly because McIntosh has become a forgotten man and Holani is under the radar solid.

I loved Grubb in college and I truly think he’s going to be a star and future head coach in the NFL. Watching interviews he just seems to have the “it” factor even though I typically hate that expression. I think k he played to his strengths at Washington with Penix, Odunze etc. but will be more balanced in the NFL. His run concepts do transfer to the next level.
