He's a confident guy, and he plays like he understands the game and position well.

He's been sitting behind guys and just studying his craft for years.

I like that he thinks he could take that on.

It COULD be interpreted as him getting full of themselves already. Then again, meh. I think a confident Geno is very good for this team.

He says he could be a good one right now. Dunno…does he not like the one he has?
He likely has good communication skills, and with 7 years of being an understudy behind some great Quarterbacks & tier OC's, it's not likely that the job would be too big for the guy.
How did you & Soulfish come to the conclusion/assumption that he doesn't like Waldron?, or are y'all just in the barnyard, scratchin' & peckin' with the chickens? LOLOLOL

It’s a disrespect to the coaching craft. Jeff Saturday was a good center and a good man, but would have bombed at oc obviously.

Wait what?

Are you saying that Geno’s comment is a disrespect to our coaches?

If so, do you think it was intentional or unintentional?

There was no good reason or evidence to say this. It’s like Russ saying he wanted a coach in partnership.

Geno also said this

Maybe he’s just trying to troll his predecessor. God help us if he becomes that kind of diva.

If I had to pick a position to make the transition................

Byron Leftwich, Kellen Moore, Frank Reich, etc. It is a fairly common career progression for quarterbacks. Sounds to me like he is publicly declaring his future aspirations. I have no problem with him getting his resume out there. I like his confidence in himself. It would be troubling if it was missing.

So we need to spread a rumor that has PC and JS trading up to #1 for Young or Stroud and has Geno taking over as OC and maybe 3rd string QB backup.

Story on Fansided soon..,

Reich spent five years moving up the coaching trenches before his first oc promotion. No one gets it right off the bat for playing qb.

So that tweet plus the “inspiring but not taking credit” one have me wondering

"No one" is hardly ever an accurate depiction for just about any given circumstance. There are always exceptions. Without looking it up, didn't the Cowboys do this twice with Jason Garret and Kellen Moore? I suppose I could do a little digging and find exceptions to your "no one" axiom.

After digging, I see that the position of "QB coach" is the means to groom QB to OC. Not really sure what the big deal is about. Geno spends a year as a QB coach and then on to OC. Really. Who care about the specifics of the path? Is it something important enough to point out? Does it unqualify Geno's aspirations?

Qb coach is still a step. One of many.

Its fine for Geno to aspire to coaching, but for him to intimate that he could be a competent oc right now is a stretch.
