Hells ya, I've come all the way around 180 degrees on my opinion of him when he joined the team.
Geno has a strong arm, nice accuracy and touch and shows courage and confidence in a less than ideal pocket.
He's reading the defense pre snap (it feels like sometimes he has decided where he is going with the ball before the snap but maybe because of play design) he's communicating well in the no hurry up offense, getting the guys moved around and lined up, playing smart fundamental ball. He's taking what's available but also willing and able to push and make things happen when it's needed. He doesn't shrink in the big moments.
Im pretty comfortable when we need that last drive to win that game. And he's still getting better.
He is controlling his emotions more and not not letting bad plays or calls affect the next play. Plus his teammates seems to respect him. I look forward to him hopefully getting the chance and proving his doubters wrong in the post season.

Geno’s biggest downfall last year was the gapping hole in the middle of the line where the DL ran up through to knock him down

So far I am not sure that problem has been corrected. Started going against premier DLs I think we will be in trouble

Geno is a Bridge QB because of age, not playing ability. He's probably got maybe 2 years left of prime Geno, then he'll start declining like all QB's.

But I believe over the next 3 years, he's good enough to take us to the promised land if the team around him is competent. He's no less talented than Hass IMO. And he's probably better than the Russell Wilson that took us to our first SB victory.

Both Denver and NE feature very good DT's on their DL. That's part of why we are seeing the breakdowns.

I could be wrong but I watched a bunch of the NFL shows the last couple of days and barely a mention of Geno.
I mean he led a game tying, and game winning drive and nothing 🤬
I mean I know We get very little national media, but all we hear about is Brock Purdy and Dak.

The thing is, the Broncos and Patriots were teams that were slated to be bottom tier teams. In one of those games Walker popped off and provided the offensive spark. What Geno is doing is good, but it's not necessarily headline worthy. He's been a very efficient passer, but he's not posting the crazy fantasy stats, or beating perceived top contenders yet. We've also played against Bo Nix and Jacoby Brissett. We also haven't been involved in any kind of crazy shootout or crazy stories. The only story we have here is taking care of business and that doesn't sell well, especially when you're a team such as Seattle.

Geno is taking care of business, but it isn't sexy from either a fantasy or story line prospective and that's okay. We don't need to have talking heads constantly slobber over us.

You know who would have sucked in Fantasy Football as a QB1? Troy Aikman, for one. He rarely flashed gawdy numbers. Hed occassionally throw for a triple, but he played within his offense and rarely carried the team on his own.

As to Geno. Throwing 44 out of 44 passes deemed all on-target (sabermetrics) against a D that has been top 5 since Nov of '23 and with a maligned o line is about as sexy as it gets.

Not even remotely. Until he can throw six touchdown passes for forty-two points against the best defense in the league on the road in the playoffs, I will not believe in him.
I'm waiting for him to throw a touchdown to himself, then I'll believe. THAT would be impressive.

No disagreement. His performance against New England was top tier. Just wish the drops didn't happen. Should be a good game here in Seattle against the Dolphins. Hoping Geno picks up where he left off.

At least 5 drops, he would have been over 400, imo. And the game doesn't go to OT w/out those drops, imo.

Curious what it will take for those of us who think Geno is merely a bridge QB or simply not good enough to win it all to believe he just might be our current franchise quarterback?

What kind of stats does he need to have to convince you?

Did you know that Geno Smith had more game winning drives in the 4th quarter (5) than ANY other QB last year?

Truly. What will it take?
Winning it all

Geno is good , sometimes and sometimes looks like the career back up that he is , he’s good enough if your franchise QB goes down and has to hold the fort down til the starter comes back , but his play set and ability will never get us to where I want to be , Super Bowl champs again … so unless he finds it way down deep and pulls off the impossible, he is a bridge QB til we find our franchise QB ….

Or if our defense gets so dominant like legion of boom days then maybe , but if not he ain’t the future

I mean it is just that. Unless the Seahawks are a SB contending team, they're not going to talk about the Seahawks or any of the players on it. Our fanbase is small compared to the rest of the NFL. The media is in the business of making money, good or bad, they will spend their energy and time on the teams and players for those teams that bring in viewership. It's not hatred, its purely a business move.

My college has been a blue blood for basketball for how long now? it still doesn't get talked about much in comparison to the other teams because the fanbase is small, but they have been forced into the conversation being a top 5-15 team for like 2 decades.

It is what it is. If we want the Seahawks to be talked about, they need to be a contender...or have the team suddenly get moved to a major media market area.

I am happy to have him - and even more so for what he is getting paid............I can't think of a better guy for this team.

BUT - the inexplicable crap plays are hard to swallow - huge yardage sacks and WTF interceptions. I get that qb's make mistakes - but some of Geno's have been mind boggling and sooooo poorly timed. If he can limit those types of inexplicable errors and be the solid guy we saw in the 9er game - outside of the one WTF interception- I will become a staunch supporter.

At the end of the last game I just had no faith that he would get the job done on the final drive - I posted as much and happily ate crow over being wrong.
