I dont think we can wait much longer either. But lets not forget how we were not so excited when the original lineup was in there. It will be a definite improvement but not a dominate front line by any stretch. As another poster said this will need attention in the offseason and draft. Russell deserves it.

Even with okung and the big Russian in there they were pretty mediocre, but at least they werent being competely abused. Dom is right, all I can think of is David carr. This has to be affecting our QB negativley.

The earliest Okung can return is week 11 against Minnesota. Breno's probably a couple weeks away as well.

Clayton also said Harvin would return around thanksgiving.

Long story short, Clayton is not Okungs doctor.

We will lose Russell Wilson if it does. He's about to become David Carr'ed if we aren't careful.

There were a couple f plays last night where Wilson came to the line and looked panicked. There were a couple of throws where he chucked it up before he needed to. There was a sideline shot where he briefly pulled his cap over his face.

For the first time in his career, Wilson looked rattled. The hits are taking their toll.

Meanwhile, I spoke briefly with Russell Okung, who was walking stadium steps pregame. Confident he'll be back when eligible (Wk 11).

The line played pretty well at the end of last year and they didn't anticipate losing both starting tackles. What if they had drafted all OL early and then Lynch and Turbin were hurt now? Would you make the same thread asking why they didn't draft a RB?

Most of the OL drafted last year who are playing seem to be struggling right now. Without knowing who would be getting hurt I think it was very reasonable for them to get the best overall backups that they could.

So once they are cleared in a couple of weeks they can practice the next couple of weeks then it will take them a couple more weeks to gel and get in rythem... What is the point? Season over.

Pete was just on the radio, Good news:

Asked about the statuses of Okung and Breno Giacomini, Carroll said, "I was asking that question last night on the plane."

@710ESPNSeattle
RT @BradyHenderson: Pete Carroll tells @BrocknDanny that the #Seahawks' game against Minnesota is a targeted return date for Russell Okung.

#Seahawks coach Pete Carroll says OT Breno Giacomini is no more than a couple of weeks away from returning. "This is an important week."

"Breno's only a couple weeks away. Russell ran yesterday in the stadium. Okung will be back in 3 weeks." - Pete Carroll

@Curtis_Crabtree: Carroll says T Breno Giacomini has finally made a turn in his recovery

Carroll says T Breno Giacomini has finally made a turn in his recovery. Taken longer than they thought but is starting to make progress.

If Okung is cleared for the Viking game Nov 17th (3 weeks, as Pete said), he will play.

If Breno is cleared in 2 weeks, the week of the Falcon game, and needs two weeks of practice, He will only miss 3 more games due to the Bye week giving him another week and he will be back for the Saints game, and the Hawks will have 5 games left.

I doubt either Okung or Breno will require much in the way of practice time once they return. They know the scheme, they've played the roles, they've got cohesion. Plug nd play.

I love I told you so moments.

I got gashed on this board when people were still crying over Percy when Okung and Giac had just gotten hurt saying how much bigger of a blow this would be and that everyone should be concerned. I got the usual "PC and JS can run a better team than you and are prepared for this situation" and that doesn't appear to be the case now everyone is panicking.

The game of football is won and lost in the trenches and luckily we have been doing just enough to get by mediocre/bad teams on the road. We would have gotten SMASHED by the 49ers last night and quite possibly lost to the Saints at home playing like that.

Seriously dude? Somebody gashed you and said losing percy (someone who has yet to play for this team) was worse than losing both tackles? I'd love to see those posts so I know who to put on ignore. Nobody could be that ignorant, or are you using a little hyperbole here?

Seems like there are a lot of claims lately of "I said this before and everyone jumped all over me for it." Isn't that something like "I told you so!"?

Agreed, and David Carr is a great analogy. If he doesn't sustain a career threatening injury, he's going to be forever gun shy if our line continues to leak like a sieve.

Regardless of how this season turns out, the #1 priority going into the offseason has to be the offensive line.
