134yds, 2 TDs with the same Oline... I love Walker, but he hasn't even come close to those numbers...

Early in the season against the Lions he did.

12 carries for 80 yrds and 3 td's. 6.7 ypc.
I imagine if he would have got the ball 22 times in that game, like Charbs did in this game, then his numbers would have even been higher. Walker has only gotten 20 or more carries twice this season.

Personally I think they're both good backs, just different players completely and I am glad we have both.

Before the stats update as of now :

Walker 145 carries, 542 yds, 3.7 avg, 7 tds
Charbs 75 carries, 266 yds, 3.5 avg, 5 tds

How is walker so superior over chards at this point in the season?... I mean they're running behind the same oline with the almost same average yards per run here... I'm dumbfounded on how many Hawks fans believe Walker is this super human specimen...

I didn't say that K9 was superior to Charbs. I like them both.

Charbs now after todays game :

Rushing
91 attempts, 400yrds, 4.1avg 7tds
Receiving (
todays 51yd run is his longest and bumped his avg)
36 receiving, 43 tgts, 263yds, 7.3yds rec, 1 td

28yds is KWIII longest run this yr

Edit: fun fact. Charbonnet holds the MICHIGAN freshman record from the 2019 season with 726 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns

2021 he transferred to UCLA

I think that the difference is that Charbs is a step slower so the line has that extra half second to open up the holes. It may be that the line is not good enough for Walker, but matches up better with a slower back?

Loved Charbonnet's performance yesterday. It's going to be hard to sit him down after that.

I agree that part of his success had to be the progress of the offensive line, but it was the same line. It would be best for the team if Charbonnet's big day was the result of Ryan Grubb and the O-line finally figuring things out. Let's hope it's the start of a trend.

well said. Why can't we just like BOTH backs and not always have it be bench this guy!? They're teammates, don't we want BOTH of them to kill it out there?

So, Sataoa Laumea starts the past two games, who has obviously increased our ability to pull and move the line around instead of the poor players that we had for the first eleven games of the season, but Charbonnet is "running behind the same line?" Damn, this site is getting harder and harder to click on.

Perhaps the fact that we faced third overall pick and two time pro bowler Quennen Williams when we played the Jets and we faced a sixth round pick/undrafted free agent DT's when we faced the Cardinals speaks more to our success than Charbonnet being the man who should be starting. Competition matters. Williams is vastly more talented than Jones and Lopez. Also, if you watch the tape, it is obvious that Grubb was using the Cardinals tendencies that we established in the previous game against them. They were reacting to motion as they did last game and we were running directly to the holes that the Cardinals game plan was making.

No, but what a great problem to have. Play whoever is hot that day.
