I'm saying that a lot of Walker's action, when he looked like an elite talent, was with a patchwork OL that had a different center, OG, and RT than what was out there this past weekend.

Some people are being really myopic with the RB discussion. Charbs had one great game, which coincidentally was the week the OL has looked by far the best it has all season, and coincidentally, our backup RB also looked fantastic. For the majority of the season, he has looked painfully average at best. I'm sure there are things Charbs does better than Walker, but suddenly claiming that they've been running behind the same OL and suggesting that Charbs has succeeded where Walker has failed is very disingenuous.

It's the same O-line as went against the Jets the week prior, and 4 of the same 5 starters that played in each of the previous weeks 2 (including 1 game against the EXACT same team)

In those 3 weeks Walker combined for 144 yards on 46 carries (3.1 YPC). If you're telling me that the only reason Charbonnet looked so good is because of a 6th round rookie making his 2nd start lets anoint him into the HoF now.

Perhaps the reason the OL looked by far the best this season is because they're blocking for somebody who runs for holes as designed. Remember one of the reasons the OL always looked so poor for Wilson is because he rarely stepped up into the pocket but instead acted non-traditionally. This resulted in some amazing plays that only someone like Wilson could pull off, but also put us into a lot of 3rd and long and non-manageable situations when he didn't pull it off. Walker is much the same at times.

In THREE starts Charbonnet has scored 5 TDs and combined for 369 scrimmage yards (263 rushing, 106 receiving) - Walker hasn't had a 3 game stretch like that since his rookie season.

If Charbonnet gets the start this weekend (either on merit or because Walker isn't ready to go) and puts in another 90+ yard performance, would you really be ready to bench him and start Walker again?

Two of those Charbs starts were in weeks 2 and 3. Walker started weeks 1 and 4:

Walker: 32 carries for 183 yards (5.7ypc) 4 TDs
Charbs: 32 carries for 129 yards (4.0ypc) 3 TDs

The two teams Walker went against are now a combined 20-6. The ones in Charbs starts are 9-17.

From there, neither really did anything until this past weekend when the OL was phenomenal. I'm not seeing why the conclusion is that Charbs is far superior and should be the #1 going forward.

Love me some Charbs but I don't think he'd hold up to the pounding a #1 RB takes in 17 games. Hell, K9 has a better build and look how often he's nicked up.

Charbonnet had 134 today. 134 x 17 = 2,278. 1000+ seems pretty doable.

Barkley is not on the team.

Charbonnet is a poor man’s Barkley.
