Geno will very likely play the final year of his contract and then the team will likely move on because of age. Howell is the default future QB. He is younger than Penix/Nix so there is room for him to grow but his tenure at Seattle isn't exactly set in stone. He didn't put up much of a challenge against Geno last pre-season and that is definitely a mark against him. This upcoming camp, Howell will really have to show out to be in the long-term plans. We won't know anything more than that until the draft and free agency play out. Even then, it might be 2026 before a definitive QB move is made.
The team is overinvested at edge. Time to move on from Jones and Nwosu. They are really good players, but they are expensive, and the team has capable youth at the position. The same can be said for tight end. Pharaoh Brown is underwhelming as his inexplicable penalties come at the worst possible time. Noah Fant is a really good player, but Barner is bigger and more physical which is the direction that the offense wants to go. The left guard, Thomlinson, is finished as a Seahawk because the team will prioritize the position in the off season.
There will be cap room to play Geno's final season, and the team will get younger at Tight End and Edge. I think it was telling that they signed Sherriff to a futures contract.
