It's really simple you just don't want your goal to be always compete (8-9/9'-8!) or win 54% of your games like the Mariners. Just be ok with a couple years of really bad teams especially if you already have your critical core pieces. Be the 49ers or Rams get coach that understands the new NFL and be fine with terrible for a year or two and for godlsskes. Let your people do their job.Wow. Decaf maybe?

I don't but Pete refuses to accept how it actually works so his teams are mostly 8-9/9'8 making the playoffs barely and lose and basically move irrelevant them Taylor and Travis while they win more Superboels because they did what Pete refuses to let John do....his job and go get a real quarterback no we trade for safeties and grossly overpay them like Dissley etc.
He should be in Missouri given he seems to be 10 years behind the curve. I love him but he never allows for adjustments until unless at the game has passed him by for a minimum of 2 years at best?

We are off to a 3-1 start. The defense just came off a DOMINANT performance (regardless against a poor team), our stock is rising. Perhaps we can see how the season plays out before using masked profanities in your expecting a 8-9/9-8 season and early playoff exit?

The Blazers are a perpetual playoff team too. Look where that has gotten them. Perpetual slightly above average mediocrity should not be the goal.

Shoot, they made 3 Superb Owl's in 10 seasons. Went back to back and won a title. Several trips to the playoffs. Won more games than just about any other team over a decade. Slightly above average? Hardly.
Also, Pete was left with a crap sammich from Jim MorON, still turned it around fast. 8 seasons with 10 or more wins, 5 Division Titles, several trips to the post season and back to back SB's is slightly above average? Damn.

Since 2016 nothing and no end in sight so move along or prove it. The past is irrelevant. San Francisco and the Rams are right here and are going to stay and Pete has no clue about both especially McVay it's really sad.
I know Seattle has an irrational hatred of getting a quarterback actually what Geno could make (thank God he's reverting so far). But it's way past time for John to go get a quarterback any quarterback he actually likes.
My favorite is Rattler he plays in a NFL offense his OL is shit his recievers are average yet he wins. But I'm thinking we we will have to to trade up a bit like Kansas City did for Mahomes and keep Geno until 3035.

First it was your assertion that other than 50 years back, we never saw NFL head coaches staying ten years or more at the same job, which was easily debunked with the many easy counterexamples I cited in my reply (Tom Landry, Don Shula, Chuck Noll, and current coaches John Harbaugh and Mike Tomlin) that all came to mind without even needing a Google search, but I'll admit I did have to search to find out how long all those coaches had been at their jobs and when exactly the retired guys stopped.

2012: 11-5, wildcard, won a playoff game
2013: 13-3, won the division, won two playoff games and a Super Bowl
2014: 12-4, won the division, won two playoff games
2015: 10-6, wildcard, won a playoff game
2016: 10-5-1, won the division, won a playoff game
2017: 9-7
2018: 10-6, wildcard
2019: 11-5, wildcard, won a playoff game
2020: 12-4, won the division
2021: 7-10
2022: 9-8, wildcard
So that's once that they were 9-8, once that they were 9-7, and twice that they were 7-9 (including the time they beat the defending Super Bowl champions in the playoffs), plus the 2021 disaster. And eight seasons of ten or more wins. Oh, and ten playoff wins, including a Super Bowl.
The total record over Carroll's years, even including the early years when Carroll and Schneider were turning over the roster and hadn't yet built the team they wanted, is 127-81-1. If we ignore the tie, that's a winning percentage of 61.06%. If we count the tie as a half-win (and an extra game), it's 61.00%. Either way, in a 17-game season, the average (again, even including the first two years) that's over ten wins. Even over a 16-game season, it's close to ten wins. Take out the first two seasons, and it's 113-63-1. That's 64.20% or 64.12%, depending on how you account for the tie, and that translates to over 10.9 wins over a 17-game season.
I confess I have a little difficulty parsing the rest of the text quoted above, and what little I could glean from it appears to be just a mishmash of parts of incorrect assertions with no logical structure.
You claim in many posts that the game has passed Carroll by, and yet you can't explain how, even saying recently that you're "not an XO girl," which I took as an admission that you don't really know much about on-the-field tactics (commonly called "X's and O's" because of the diagrams using those symbols to represent players from the two teams). So given that, how can you state with such confidence that Carroll is behind the times and even suggest, as you did in a recent comment, that you should apply for the Seahawks head-coaching job?

The on-the-field product I've been seeing looks pretty up-to-date to me. Carroll's team just made the reigning Coach of the Year's team look sloppy and lost on the field, despite Carroll's team dealing with even more injury problems than the reigning Coach of the Year's team. The offense has been doing some cool stuff despite playing at times with one offensive-line starter out of position and the other four starters completely out of the game with injuries. The defense has had its issues, but none of it looked to me like it was because they were trying to run something old and outdated. On the contrary, it looked like some of the new elements hadn't completely taken hold yet.
I'm with Carroll on this one. Last year, when his team had just very convincingly beaten the Giants, who had been 6-1 before facing the Seahawks and whose coach was in the middle of his Coach-of-the-Year campaign, Carroll said this:

Carroll has forgotten more about football in the last five minutes than you'll know in your life. You constantly demand his firing, but you can't provide a coherent reason. By your own admission, you're not an X's-and-O's person, and yet you declare with total confidence that Carroll is behind the times, even though the Seahawks have spent the last two seasons installing and executing completely new things on both offense and defense.
People rag on @Fade, and I've done that too. I was extremely harsh on him last year for some of his preseason predictions about the Seahawks, the Broncos, Russell Wilson, and Geno Smith. Fade will watch a YouTube video on NFL defense and then act like he thinks what he learned watching that video makes him better qualified to run an NFL defense than Carroll and Hurtt. He'll watch a YouTube video on "cash over cap" and then act like he thinks he's now better qualified to manage an NFL roster than the Seahawks ownership group and management. But at least he watches the videos and bases his "fire-Pete" arguments on something. I disagree with Fade a lot of the time, but at least he makes a coherent argument with which I can disagree. You just post assertions that Carroll doesn't know what he's doing and don't back it up with a single real-world example. When you do cite some kind of "fact," it's frequently utter nonsense you appear to have just made up and stated as if you believed that stating it strongly would make it true.
Prove me wrong. Believe it or not, I want you to do so. Make a coherent argument. Part of the fun around here for me is when I disagree with people who make coherent arguments with which I can disagree. I've both agreed and disagreed with things that Fade, @RiverDog, @keasley45, @Maelstrom787, @olyfan63, @Sgt. Largent, @AROS, @Mick063, and others have posted here. I've thought about things in different ways because of their posts, and I've even learned new things from some of their posts. They don't always convince me, but they do present interesting arguments.

If you digested my OP, we scored 24 points total. Take out the pick 6, the strip sack possession as a gimme, and the Drew Lock TD Drive, and what exactly did Geno do that doesn't warrant a good look at Drew? Not as a starter, but situationally Geno is really annoying when he for some reason ignores the mobility aspect to his game.
The play that Drew hit Fant I reasonably believe Geno would not have felt that pressure so quickly as that end got in the backfield very quickly. I'm still not sure how Drew freaking Lock just effortlessly rolled right while barely acknowledging the pressure. It was veteran stuff.
I just feel like Lock can be a lightning rod when Geno goes full (tropic thunder). Aka, 2nd half Rams.

I guess you were content with Geno's 12 yards of offense and ONE first down in the 2nd half to the Rams? And 110 yards against the Giants when our defense was almost literally murdering Daniel Jones so we should have put up 35+ points minimum.This

It's people like you who would never think to put Witherspoon in the slot or start Russ over Flynn. Just followers with no vision of reality. He's efficient and good at times. But since when is he untouchable when he sucks?
